L 2-0 vs Swindon Town (A) - League Two - Sat 16th Sept, 3pm

FK me popped on the Swindon forum you’d think they were a recently relegated Prem side, moaning about how many we are bringing. We could only dream of having the catchment and home support they get but such is where we are located.

% of home support who go away is no doubt the same if not higher. Bout 600 there is like them bringing over a thousand here.

Ridiculously high and mighty for a club we’ve mixed with on and off for years and years.

Best they just stick to cheating, it’s what they are good at.

Boring as fook, odd club who are mixing it in the basement the same as us at the end of the day. I’d pipe down.

I’ve come across some ‘special’ Swindle fans on social media in the past. They have a high opinion of themselves, which is fair enough I guess, but as you say they are slumming it with us.

Our away support is class even through some of the shittest of times for us.

They just might be the biggest attendance nonces of the lot, these. They think everyone outside of Swindon sees them as some massive club but in reality, no one does. All Swindon is to me is a club constantly riddled with debt looking to scramble it’s way out of.

Yep always been a well supported club (but never classed as big tbh) much like the two bristols but there’s not a fat lot of competition round there so they should be pulling decent gates.

They said the same about our support last year like a broken record could understand it more coming from a side such as Bradford but them? get fooked.

With walk ups there will probably be 600+ Walsall fans there tomorrow. Plenty of times I’ve been to Swindon where it’s been below 400, so it’s absolutely fine considering our home support and generally woeful away record in 2023.

That’s without mentioning the ludicrous ticket prices.

I remember that game and I don’t think anybody there believed the figure they gave out. I think they must have counted the stewards, the coppers, the journalists, the stadium cat and kittens, and all the people who walked past the ground on the way to or from the shops between 1500 hours and 1700 hours.

Flynn’s thoughts:

Looking forward to seeing you all in my manor tomorrow. Sleep well. UTS. Lump on.

How anyone can have ill feeling towards Flynn is beyond me. Some of the premature glee at Swindon’s supposed transfer issues in the summer were embarrassing for a bloke who always spoke highly of this club and its supporters, even when being sacked.

That said, hope we win 5-0 tomorrow.

Simple away win

For those going today, remember look up when Swindon have the ball

They took just over 700 to Doncaster last game and they have sold 400 so far for their trip to morecambe next weekend. They’re hardly massive are they? Let’s see how many they take to Crewe for £27

These two teams finally coming to there senses and recording a 0-0 draw today .

Yes. I liked Flynn the human being. Seemed honest and did the right things by people away from the pitch - including supporters.

I didn’t like the way he tried to go about winning football matches here. Don’t know whether it was him trying to play the hand he was dealt in terms of personnel, injuries etc or whether that is actually his default because his time here was like his time at Newport except on fast forward - solid start, good run, cup run, poor run, poor football, sacked.

His current CV is the most fourth division ever. I think this is his sixth successive season trying to get a side up and out of this league. I hope for him the human being he does it one day - just not with this lot. Swindlers.

Bunch of sados who obsess over atendance statistice to delude themselves into thinking their more than just a bog standard lower league club like everyone else.

What does that even mean? We can down play it all we want, but he over achieved at Newport. Things didn’t go right here (I believe there were extenuating circumstances) and he’s about 7 games into a spell with Swindon (arguably his first realistic chance of getting out of this league). There’s managers with way more league two clubs (and failures) on their CV than Flynn.

Agree with all the people that can’t stand Swindon though. I’ve never known a fan base so obsessed with attendances, especially when their ground is less than half empty every week.
