L 4-2 vs Wrexham (A) - League Two, Tue 15th August, 7:45pm

I’d rather have players that are effective. If Hutchinson can up the ratio between effective and anonymous/hinderance everything would be fine.

I think there’s a correlation between fans who rate players like Kinsella, and dislike players like Hutch - and the other way around.

There’s not. It’s much more down to your personal view and whether you like the player.

With Kinsella it was all about what he didn’t do and ignoring what he did. With Hutch it’s all about what he does do and ignoring what he doesn’t.

I don’t think there is at all. I like “players like Hutch” who produce some level of consistent performance. Just like every single other position on the pitch.

I also like Hutch, but he shouldn’t be given a free ride just because he passes the ball forward.

There’s this idea that if you criticise him in anyway, you don’t like the player, or dare I say “are abusing him” (I certainly haven’t heard any abuse).

If you give the ball away in key areas and are sometimes lackadaisical in your performance people will pick that up, while at the same time acknowledging he’s probably our biggest creative influence (and only, in this set up).

It’s called nuance. People struggle with it.

Have a look on Walsall fans have your say.
“Hutch is piss poor”
“Hutchinson is f****** s*** f***off”
“Hutch is poor end of”

And that’s just a small sample

Not a lot of nuance there
Idiots

Hutchinson destined to play at a higher level, that is clear. It’s down to the manager to get the best out of him, by supporting him with players in and around him and tactically where he has options to show us how good he is.

At the moment he hasn’t got that.

And he won’t get that Ken.

Well I was talking about my view there, not the knuckledraggers that some how mange to bang their ham fists against the keyboard long enough to produce something that vaguely looks like English on there, but fair enough. That site is a blind spot for me.

I did say “heard” rather than “read” though because I’d seen in this thread somebody claiming he was being abused at the game. Watched him a fair few times and not heard that yet.

Amazing how it’s everybody else’s fault but Hutchinson. I bet the bloke can turn water into wine.

Quote Wednesburyres

“I don’t care what nonsense anyone says Hutchinson is absolutely shit “

What can you do :man_shrugging:

He sometimes does. But if he spills any it’s McEntee’s fault.

Are you suggesting we should start spelling it McKinstee?

I’ll have a couple of bottles of Rioja if he can .

May be worth a thread on it’s own, but @CompletelySaddled and I spent most of yesterday discussing player abuse and what the parameters are.

For me there’s a big difference between ‘player x was shit today’ and ‘player x is a f-cking useless shit c-nt’, but there has to be line drawn somewhere.

Sounds like players x might be an upgrade on what we have, when we signing him

I haven’t seen any real player abuse, I’ve seen people be critical of performances?

Unless I’m missing something.

Go and have a look at WFHYS apparently as the view of the entire Walsall fan base!

Ok :+1:

Obviously critisise away but i can only assume hes getting it cause you know or subconsciously you know hes the most gifted player in the side.

Be interested to know exactly what your expectations are of him.
