I really hope you are right.
I tend to agree, we’ve played pretty well the past 3 games. Tonight was a kick in the balls, if we don’t let it get to us too much and bounce back on Saturday, I think it will be fine.

Apologies came up with some random shit there having had an hour added to my journey back to the digs in Reading as the M4 was shut aswell as a chunk of the A419. Icing on the cake after the late equaliser.
Still 7 points clesr though.
Think 5 more wins or 15 points from 13 remaining games should be enough for top 3
Sounds about right to me. Even 4 and a few draws could get us over the line.
That is what makes last night even more frustrating in a way. We would have been well and truly on the home straight.
We are where we are though. Still well and truly in our own hands.
I’m getting very twitchy about our next 2 games. Swindon have improved massively, and Carlisle are due a win with Mark Hughes. In fact, Hughes stated only yesterday that he’s certain his team can avoid relegation, and just one win will kickstart a recovery.
We aren’t playing well at the minute, but we’re picking up points. Mat Sadler’s stubborn attitude also bothers me, and his reluctance to use his subs when players are struggling. I’m sure he knows who he can rely on most, but some fresh blood and different tactics will be needed in my view.
I know we all need to stay positive, but I can see some big clouds on the horizon, and last night’s capitulation hasn’t helped the mood.
Ii think Bradford and Wimbledon finish above us. 100%. They’ve got that something about them right now that we had running in to Christmas.
Donny and Notts possibly. More concerned about Donny. They finished last season well and have ran this race before.
We shouldn’t be trying to work out where we can scrape wins here and there. Should be in a stronger position but at least it’s in our hands.
Last night was disappointing but 67 points with still 13 left is still a ridiculously strong position to be in.
I think lower than a 50% win ratio gets the team comfortably up as six more wins is 85 points so with a couple of draws you can get up to 87/88 no problem. I can’t believe that’s going to be a points haul only good enough for 4th, infact it could still win the league I reckon.
To be sure of being champions 90 points is probably the magic number so 7 wins and 2 draws from last 13.
If form over the last 10 games were to continue over the rest of the season on a ppg basis, the table would end up like this:
Bradford 93
Walsall 87
Doncaster 85
Wimbledon 85
Notts 85
Port Vale 82
Grimsby 75
Crewe 69
All too close for my liking!
There are quite a few matches between each other as well, which will go a long way to deciding it I think. Ours v. Wimbledon, Donny and Port Vale are now more crucial than before.
But it never does.
Well not never, but very unlikely all would remain the same, obviously. 10 teams last 10 are within 2 points of their previous 10 and all our rivals have improved. It’s more an indication of form and how many points might be needed.
For perspective, if I was an MK Dons fan and had just signed Orsi, and also Crowley from rivals Notts County, I’d be casting my eyes enviously over ‘Smalsall’s’ current position and also ruing the decision to get rid of a proven centre forward at this level, in Ellis Harrison, who appears to be running into a bit of form at a crucial time in the season…
So for us - last 13 games:
Worst case play offs.
Expectation - top 3.
If we play well - champions.
I’d have snapped your hand off in July for those options!
I can’t wait to start a thread about next year’s expectations, hopefully in league one.
All this makes for a very exciting April!
I very much doubt all the play off/auto chasing teams are going to stroll to 80 + points.
Some are playing each other directly, some of the bottom teams always pick up in the last few weeks when staring non league in the face so could take points off them aswell.
Of course injury time was disaster but it’s still 7 points from the last 10 days which is fine. Again we had all this doom and gloom after the recent four losses but since then it’s been four unbeaten and to get automatic promotion is still comfortably obtainable.
Harrison’s made the impact needed at key point in the season. Crucial considering the other Jan signings have barely been seen on a matchday.
Would be keeping him for next year so hopefully discussions already ongoing for that.
From the I paper
Could be good news for us if they have a new manager bounce as often happens, with Vale up next and Bradford in a couple of weeks time.
Bradford the team in form could be the team to pip us watched them a few times lately very impressive best team in this league at the moment there game at Salford very important lose it and I think ,we’re still in with a chance .providing we beat Swindle .
Bounce ,not if they employ Derek Adam’s
I don’t want just promotion, I want to win the league now!
