New contract for Donervon Daniels

Really enjoyed that.

Articulate, intelligent, thoughtful. Just the right ingredients for a captain and leader.

You can see him going on to be a good coach and/or manager.

We’re lucky to have him.

How good was it to see Captain Fantastic back on the bench last night. I thought when the teams were announced it gave everyone both in the audience and the playing squad a real lift and inspired a wonderful performance. Real competition for places at the back now but it’s great to have a lur leader back amongst it.

There is noway he should be in the starting line up with how the guys are performing.

Our strength in depth is amazing.

Good back up for any of the back line in case of injuries but 100% he should not be ahead of McEntee , Harry or Allen .

If it was a straight choice for DD or Dave for right centre back I would go DD

Sure to be back on Saturday, up until last night we have coped well without Captain Fantastic but we need his defensive and leadership skills more than ever.on Saturday.

I feel that changes will be made for saturdays game, and changes that should of been made last night, but had we lost with team changes against Fleetwood people would of asked why change a winning team.

No win situation for MS last night, the team have given their all for some big games recently against teams in leagues above and in cup games, it was obvious some would burn out before too long.

So now MS should make a few tweeks without fear of being jumped on, very few came out with any credit after last night tbh, but personally I think a goalie change would not come a miss, Simkin to me hasn’t really been tested, until last night and I felt he fell short on 3 of the goals, where Hornby has looked better in the games I’ve watched him in.

Big Dave is to me solid but the weak link in the defence atm, that sounds a little contradictory I know but he does seem to be struggling atm and is being carried by the rest … that sounds a little derogative to Dave but that’s my personal opinion atm and would love McEntee to replace him when fully fit but more likely DD which I don’t have a problem with as long as we don’t rush him back like last time when he wasn’t fully fit.

Should have come on yesterday when we went shakey after the penalty. Definitely after their 3rd - it was clear we were falling over and needed experience. We may look back at the end of the season regretting it.

Last night was the first time our young team missed the 5 , yes 5 more experienced players. Obviously The Priest and Josh Gordon are way off but hopefully the other 3 can come back soon. Maybe one or two could start Saturday or at least play some part in the game. I think we have done well considering the team which we have had to play but last night we were found out.

It’'s a real dilemma for Sadler and it could have financial consequences. A lot has been said about the agreement to get Simkin here and some sort of guarantee of first team football otherwise we will be fined for every game he is fit and doesn’t play. I do wonder what it could do to his confidence if he is dropped after his first poor game and we need to show some faith and trust in him, I’m not entirely sure we handled the Evans situation when he had a stinker last season all that well.

Will be a huge fillip and boost to the whole team seeing Captain Fantastic back in the starting 11 on Saturday.

Perhaps you could offer to pay the “fine”?

What about the confidence of all the players who have sat on the bench up until now? I can see no better reason for dropping Simkin after he was directly responsible for some of the 6 goals we conceded. He won’t learn anything if it’s just swept under the carpet. As for us being fined for not playing him, if that’s the deal the club have signed them we deserve to get fined £50,000 per game for signing such a ridiculous contract.

Do we even know if it’s true?

I think it’s absolutely absurd if we have.

I agree. I just don’t believe that would be part of the agreement. I am sure the situation will be handled properly and discussed with his parent club. In my view leaving him out on Saturday might be best for him and the team.He can then have a week off and come back refreshed for the games ahead.Hornby has played ok so far and it is good for Simkin to know that he has competition for the place.

Don’t see how we could contractually be fined by another club for not playing their player, sounds far fetched to me.

Only thing I can see is that if we aren’t paying 100% of his wages, we have to pay the remaining x% if he doesn’t play.

Also don’t see Stoke mandating that one of their prospects plays if it would be damaging to his development.

Sounds like utter bollocks to me. Would be the first of it’s type.
