New Sadler poll

Sadler is a calm personality and i always think Walsall is better with those types.

Too many big egos have come along and failed and left with their tails between their legs.

You are a sing when you are winning sort of bloke. Preferred the retail park to watching the boys last season.
Cant get my head round it tbh.

Richard Money did alright, he was all ego!

True but that was a long time ago and a different age in football.

Some People hated him as we won every week an all though :joy:

Never mind winning, he didnā€™t wave at fans!
The bastard!

Iā€™d go for non of the above.
And as you say

Those that didnā€™t want him in the first place and were calling for his head at the 3 Alfreton games (a postponed his fault apparently at the time :roll_eyes:a draw and a win.) Seem to be determined not to come round and admit they were wrong. Oh well.

No, we were not great up to December, due to mainly injuries in the squad, after that it was essentially play-off form, if a bit up and down.

So Draper was tosh then? And you didnā€™t think getting in the top pair from the previous season was a good move at the time? Didnā€™t work out due to injuries though.

And thatā€™s just pure rubbish. The improvement was there to be seen from December onwards.
If we finish from here with the same results for the rest of the season as last year weā€™ll probably be third.

Form for November, the 4weeks pre Charlton, WDWWD
Form for December, the 3 weeks post Charlton, WWWWW
So you interpreting that invisible dip as the form dropping off in the month either side of the Charlton game is

Also you should realise that:
a) For me to gloat I must have scored a success or been right at your expense.
and
b)That gloating about that and being chuffed to NAAFi breaks(one for ex-squaddies there) with the season so far are not mutually exclusive.
Also donā€™t worry I will let you know if/when you are ever actually right about anything. :kissing_heart:

Not even reading that post.

Just weird obsessive bilge.

I love how I get to you

And that response kind of gives some credence to the Silkeborg fans opinion of some of our fanbase.

Judging by your weird obsessive posts - yep.

Can you just leave me alone and stop commenting on my posts please? Itā€™s boring for me, and boring for everyone else.

No but the effort and replacing him was worse than tosh.

DJ wasnā€™t a great use of a limited budget

But look. We move on. Happy to be positive about things.UTS

No itā€™s not , itā€™s really good.

What a difference from 12 months back when it was 4-0 defeats at Sutton United, a 0-0 at Alfreton. And the odd decent league win.

The turnaround was that second half at Notts County. Played a very inform team completely off the pitch and largely the results have been very good since with the odd bad day at the office like Franchise away or Fleetwood this season which happens to every single team in a league season.

His impact reminds me of Cambridge United being stagnate for years and then unheralded backroom coach Mark Bonner stepped up and lead them to promotion and then established them in league 1.

Just like the Jamma Matt thread I got this one totally wrong although I was never as anti-Sadler as many, just thought he was overpromoted but heā€™s getting far more out of squads than more experienced types like Clarke and Flynn could and that is to his extreme credit.

Plenty questioned that. Their prior success was a result of an established game plan relying on wingers. We didnā€™t play that way.

Seems to some extent that our 3-5-2, has developed into almost a 3-3-4 when we are on the attack with our wingbacks playing almost as out and out wingers. \wonā€™t be long before weā€™re back to 1950ā€™s formation with five forwards, 2-3-5/3-2-5.

Itā€™s a 2-4-4 when Taylor Allen maraudes forward

It was 11-0-0 at that final corner against Bromley. :joy:

Slight off topic

Simkin went up for that corner. Have we ever had a keeper score

I cannot recall any. We have had outfield players in goal, of course.

A related question: have we ever had a goalkeeper play as an outfield player?

In the fateful relegation game against Charlton, did Alan Boswell stay on the pitch for nuisance value after his injury, with Granville Palin going in goal? That was standard practice in the days before substitutes, but I may be mis-remembering as it was one of my earliest games at Fellows Park and I was only 6 at the time.
