Next Walsall Manager Thread (Again)

DJ needs to be the first! What better way to get the fans onside?

Imagine its January and someone comes up to you and tells you Flynn will be replaced by Sadler in just 4 months

Does anyone believe there’ll be major changes at the club after this appointment? (As insinuated in Benny’s letter)

:joy::joy::joy::joy:

Our three main social media platforms:-

Twitter - “that’s it I’m done with them”. Then keep posting and posting and posting and posting just to prove how “done” they are.

UTS - a set of wordy theses around dividing the average age of contributor by the number of managers since Bill Moore, times that by how many caps Tony Macken and Mick Kearns got for Ireland then you get Matt Sadlers age. The first time this algorithm has worked since Frank Sibley. Booo.

Facebook - Just noticed he’s called Sadler. And we’re the Saddlers. But it’s still pathetic - should’ve got Klopp.

Yeah but you have to “get behind him” they shout

I.E. do not question the appointment, do not complain about an obviously ‘cheap’ tow-the-line option.

Do not question!

“Get behind him”

This is the most Walsall appointment of all time.

Also a huge fan of the “yeah well Smith/Lee/Graydon were inexperienced too” PoV too!

Only Walsall could have American investment and produce something so underwhelming while Wrexham are signing Ben Foster and becoming viral sensations with similar US ownership - the fact of the matter is that Sadler might be the next Pep, but I don’t think anyone had a bloody clue.

You’ve got to admit, it is pretty funny on the whole though :joy::joy::sob:

I just don’t believe for one instance that the board would go back in time and sack Flynn again - knowing that they’d appoint Sadler and Flynn would go to Swindon.

Feels like a massive self own

Question
How longs his contract ?

Well Pomlett and gangs skin is so feckin thin that a few cross emails forced their hand and they threw Flynn under the bus with no Plan B. And now they have launched plan B… Sadler

Amazing Walsall. Well done you

Why not sack Flynn 7 games earlier (when it was obvious we weren’t making the playoffs) and give Sadler a probation? Surely a far better strategy.

It just reeks of a knee jerk sacking & appointment - totally contrary to the vibe he tried to put out last week. None of this has been considered for months.

Thing is nine times out of ten, I guarantee I’m getting behind them with my wallet more than most of the people telling you to be positive about it. It’s pretty easy to tell who actually attends games and who doesn’t. Half of them tell you so in great detail about their life (while complaining people get personal).

It’s easy to shrug your shoulders when you’re watching on Soccer Saturday or checking Twitter for the scores.

So I’ll give my support (and by that I mean turning up as I do for most games, buying the programme, buying the shit food or the poor pint, attending some away games) but I’ll damn sure be a boo boy if it goes tits up. And let’s face it, it normally does, and is normally predicted in advance with the same people tutting and rolling their eyes.

Personally I don’t find unnecessarily risking the future of my football club funny. That’s just me.

I honestly don’t think some our fans and our wonderful new owners realise what a precarious position we find ourselves.

You’ve set me off thinking, my first WFC manager was Bill Moore (second spell) in 1972 and I think Sadler will be my 34th manager, not counting McDonald and others who did it for one game, but including the whole Buckley/Buckley&Martin/Martin/Buckley again bit of nonsense, and counting Dutton and McEwan and Paul Taylor even if they weren’t permanent because they did it for several weeks.
So 51 years, 34 managers, I’m flummoxed as to why we aren’t more successful.
