Notts County (A) 20th July, 3pm

The answers in my post, he’s paid to be a physio, that’s his job

Let’s see. I reckon we will get an idea how bad the season will be within the first two or three games. Let’s not be too pessimistic yet.

:grinning:

I don’t understand how him messing around in the warm up of a friendly has any affect on the team. Whats he supposed to be doing during warm ups anyway?

You’re having a pop at someone over nothing.

Not always about the starting players, any team serious about promotion needs a game changing player or two on the bench.

Certainly a starting striker is a must, can agree all day about other two options.

Little worry for me is Hardy not starting today so again don’t see much scoring threat from central midfield. Just like last season.

Agree with Clarke’s comments. Thought the vocal few (very few!) were superb too👏 Keep up the good work lads.

We definitely need a striker. Gordon works hard, but couldn’t score in a brothel.
We spent 200K on a total waste of space from Cypress, surely we can find some quality in the lower leagues, or higher, for far less than that.
Whitney made some strange decisions as a manager, signing Makris has to be right up there!

Thought it was 300k

Trialist goalkeeper slinn I believe…clearly non league standard get rid to give robo the game time

Yep, was impressed with him when I saw him at Rushall but had a mare today. We all have them I suppose.

Just think he is taking up Roberts game time mate when he needs it himself. And we don’t really need 3 keepers

If it was 300K, the transaction seems even more bizarre!

Clarke will know that we are short of a natural goalscorer hes just got to find 1 that’s willing to play in league 2 on crap wages. Not an easy job I reckon he will pull a rabbit out the hat

Slinn is one of our last year’s yoof not offered an automatic professional contract but told he could try try his luck as a trialist - same as Parker and Vann who decided to look elsewhere.

Didn’t go today , but sounds very much like he needs to follow suit

I must say the most frustrating thing about all the threads that are appearing about pre season is about the lack of a striker , someone who will get us 15 - 20 goals this coming season , and yet we had one and a lot of our fans got on his back and ■■■■■■ him off so much he wanted out .

I know we get ■■■■■■ off with certain players over the season for one thing or another , but when we have got what we want already I wished we’d all agree not to get on their backs and end up at square one again .

First 60 today, Norman and CCM did OK as wingbacks on the defensive side, and general gaining promising positions, but didn’t really deliver in terms of crosses or cutting in. Adebayo did more picking the ball up wide, beating the fullback and driving to the byline (we need a Frank Lampard type midfielder arriving late to benefit).

Last 30, went from 532 to 451. McDonald got into some great positions as a winger but not a single killer ball as end product (then again, usually only marked-out-of-the-game Candlin as an option) - and prevented Pring from doing the WB job (ditto Holden with Facey on the right, but had even less impact on the game).

In the last couple of friendlies, would like to see more menacing WB play, or out-and-out wingers, feeding the front 2 - or a flexible front 3. If we don’t then going to be too narrow to create enough chances in competitive games.

Do not agree mate. He wanted out no matter what… He had alot more praise than the criticism he took. If he can’t handle it ■■■■ him better off gone.

Agree to a degree Gav , but we are struggling to replace ATM the goals he scored , and will score in this division this up and coming season .

Any player , who ever he may be , once shows signs of wanting out must most definitely be moved on I do agree , but we will never get fans to agree 100% about anything or anyone .

Ah this is still a thing then? The only reason everyone turned on him is because he took it personally when fans quite rightly showed their disgust at a piss poor performance at Accrington. His attitude and professionalism is nothing more than non league, as proven.

Good grief, if you are professional player in the shambles of a side last season and you lose it, would anyone blame you?
