Oh we value the sponsors judgement now?
Hurt? honestly I’m so devasted, don’t think it’s something that I’ll ever get over.
You’re the one who was whinging about it, not a minute ago ![]()
Taylor Allen gets my vote can’t think of him making any daft mistakes. If not pos. Most improved pos.
Certainly the surprise of the season. He has done much better than most thought he would. Well done young man.
I’ll be honest, I don’t really see a world where it can’t be Hutch. Even with his form being rather inconsistent, he still keeps producing. Nobody else really compares, closest is Comley, but he is still a ways off.
Just as a point of interest and I know it’s theoretical and in practice doesnt work this way…
If you took all of Hutchs goals and assists away from every league game this season we’d be 17 (SEVENTEEN) points less than we currently are and sitting in 20th!!!
TWENTIETH!!!
No matter who does or doesn’t rate him that’s pretty stunning.
Isaac Hutchinson is the best playmaker we have had since Romaine Sawyers.
Who knows? If Hutch goes in the summer, we might ask Romaine to give us a season before he retires.
I think Isaac is a terrific footballer and hopefully he can bring some money into the club when he moves up a level. He goes with my blessing and deserves to be player of the season.
That would be Oztumer, over 30 goals in two seasons, a division higher. Little genius.
I am a fan of Hutchinson though and will vote for him as my player of the season because I appreciate what he has contributed.
Jackson Smith Or Danny Johnson for me
To be honest I wouldn’t class either Oztumer or Hutchinson as playmakers, certainly not in the Sawyers mould.
Sawyers could run a game, like players like Pirlo and Xavi. Hutchinson and Oztumer don’t really do that. Yes they can create, but their biggest asset is as a goal threat, more like Frank Lampard was.
To be fair to Hutch, he might have the chance to do a bit more creating if he played in a team that kept the ball well, like MK Dons.
Oztumer is right up there as one of favourite ever Walsall players. He genuinely was worth the ticket money alone, can’t say that about many others.
I loved the Wizard of Oz too but, a bit like Lalkovic, both had less than impressive careers, in terms of numbers, when not in a Walsall shirt.
Whilst I agree that Oz did really well for the Saddlers, I personally believe that Hutch will go on to have a better career, in terms of stats.
If he does half as well as Sawyers (e.g. playing in the premier league), he will have done really well.
My post got 7likes so thread closed sorry CS you got 6 thanks for your like .Liam the winner ![]()

Sawyers was the best midfielder we’ve had in the last 15 years his career since he left here backs that up Hutch has some work to do before he can be compared to someone like him its probably unfair to compare them at all at this point in his career
When Hutchinson can stop having 3/10s then we’ll talk about it
Would you say hutch is better than Holden was?
His stats are better but we had a lot more control of a game when holden was fully fit
Sawyers hardly plays for Cardiff and his contract is out end of the year
His 32 but I don’t think we’d have a chance at him yet for a couple more years
Imagine he will go high league 1 next year
Agreed
I’ve talked about inconsistency and he has way too many poor games to be considered player of the season for me, but Hutchinson is WAY f***ing better than Rory Holden
it’s not even remotely close.
Rory Holden was one of the most overrated players I’ve ever seen in a Walsall shirt because he was in a team that by rights should have been relegated.
3/10s ![]()

Jesus Christ
Hutch has had less than a handful of bad games this season.
Unfortunately the narrative that if he doesn’t play well Walsall don’t play well has resulted in people thinking he’s played badly every time we lose.
