Your choice of entertainment can’t be faulted!! Take care young man, and keep warm - mind you, the Guinness will probably provide excellent insulation…
Here is the updated table after the midweek games last week (thanks to Welsh_Saddler for reminding me it needed doing!!) Obviously the expectant excitement of the FA Cup tie at the weekend and the instantly forgettable result and performance at Barrow had made me completely forget about the set of midweek games, like some sort of crazy mind rubber!
Anyway, it wasn’t a great night for scoring to be honest, with an usually high number of draws, especially for the ‘fancied’ teams, that very few scored more than 1 or 0 points. The winning score in the end was 4 points, achieved by Gavin77 - well done on your first weekly win!
This Saturday’s games are up and running so make sure you get your predictions in by 3pm.
Thanks, @Welsh_Saddler.
I am on the charge!
Already ahead of me on a points per round played basis.
How I wish I hadn’t forgot to enter 1 week.
Two points from that and I would have been joint top!
Updated table after today’s games and the first proper ‘headache’ week of the season so far with 5 games postponed due to the weather, some of which proved very popular to predict which means a lot of p-p asterisks on the board right now!
But, in the midst of mostly 0s and 1s, there was a shining light or two, none more so than the winning score of 5 points achieved by chunkster - well done to you!
The question is now, is it better to have the points on the board or games in hand?!!
We have league games again next Sat and the thread is up and running shortly.
Mainly down to the super saddlers
As Jeff Stelling would say “They’ll be (literally) dancing in the kitchens in Brownhills tonight”
Well done Chunk
Cheers mucka
Updated table after yesterday’s games and what a great day of scoring, unless you chose the Crewe game which was was going great guns until late in the second half when it went down the turdhole! But that is the beauty of the prediction league and it’s swings and roundabouts from week to week.
The winning score was an impressive 5 points, achieved by Boldmeresaddler, Winging-it and deldras - well done to all 3 of you on your first weekly wins this season! It just shows how open the prediction league is and the spread of weekly wins across all predictors adds to the ‘keep going’ mentality!!
The top of the table looks very congested right now so all to play for as we head over the festive period. There will be plenty of games and the next set of fixtures will be up and running later - be mindful of the Friday night games and their kick off times.
Here is the updated table after the games from the past 2 days. A great day of scoring overall with most people scoring 3 or more points. At one point, it was looking like a handful of people would jointly win it with an excellent 5 points until near the end when one predictor gazumped them all with the second perfect 6 score of the season - a mossive well done to Harlequin for winning this week - rotate! (as someone used to say round here!)
It continues to make the top of the table very interesting reading, with the lead changing hands between different predictors and people bunched up more than in the queue at Next* on Christmas Eve!
The Boxing Day games are already up and running and the 29th games will be up shortly too.
*other high street stores are available
Updated table after the Boxing Day games and it was a bit of a low scoring affair compared to the previous game week. The winning score was 3 points achieved by 11 predictors so a bit well done to, here goes…Gavin77, RedandWhite, hullsaddler, deldras, me, Shrewsbury-Saddler, Andy_Petterson, OldPenkSaddler, Morty, hkpete and Bluejay - well done to you all!
Friday evening’s games are up and running as well as the New Year Day games’ thread.
Look out for the FA CUP Round 3 thread as well coming up this week, for those 32 of you who entered into this - the group stage is nearly done and then we get into the knockout rounds!
Having trouble seeing where ME is in the rankings ?
Updated table after the games last night and quite a topsy turvy set of scores from people.
The winning score was 4 points, achieved by jonathan, deldras and JoaquinErnesto - well done to the three of you!
The games continue to come thick and fast at the moment and there is a full set of games for New Year’s Day on Monday so make sure you get your predictions in before the 3pm kick off time.
As we come to the end of 2023, it is great to see this season’s prediction league being such a tight as well as open affair! With nearly half the table no more than 10 points from the lead, a decent run in the second half of this season could see any number of people crowned as this year’s champion!
It is also great to see so many people with at least 1 weekly win and just proves that every dog can have their day! Keep going peeps!
Much as it galls me to admit it, after having predicted a 2-1 win I was gutted when we got the third yesterday. Still 1st, although joint, weekly win anyway.
Updated table after today’s games. Some unexpected scorelines and results (!) meant that there were a lot of 0s and 1s but out of the few who scored more than this, the winning score was 4 points, achieved by Saddler1977 - well done on your first weekly win!
We have double predictions next weekend - there are 6 games in League 2 so there is a week 27 in the prediction league; then we have the FA Cup prediction league too, for the 3rd round fixtures, for those 32 who entered this. Make sure you get your predictions in for one or both of those as is relevant, by the different kick off times, that are all over the place!
About time!
@Morty . Do you know we’ve been on the same number of points as each other for the last five rounds?
I hadn’t noticed this - who’s copying whom!??
