Saddlers Fixtures 23-24

Those starting fixtures would be a test for a manager with years of experience let alone Mat Sadler so I have to say that I’m fearful now more than ever of a poor start and the pressure being turned up early on.But you never know he might come good and obviously that’s the outcome we all want.

News just in. we’re playing everyone home and away throughout the season (I’m not that churlish )

Crewe boxing day is a belter and for somebody who has friends and family in London Wimbledon A last game of the season could be lovely/horrific in the sunshine.

Easter Monday home to Salford. No doubt their massive following will fill the away end…toilets.

I don’t think the start is as horrific as some said, Morecambe away is a decent start, they seem in an awful lot of flux and come down with a losing mentality, definitely one to target 3 points. Stockport too may have a bit of a hangover from their play-off final defeat in front of a raucous home audience.

In days gone by, as I recall, all fixtures ended in April with the FA Cup Final the first Saturday in May.

Morecambe has an away end terrace of 1400 as well as 300 additional seats so a surprisingly decent away end given the overall capacity of their ground. A few positive signings and a bit of optimism back at the club and we’ll take 1000+ up there.

Definitely think we will be taking a large and impressive gate up there with us.

Morecambe away in summer - definitely a Wise choice

That was common I think, although sometimes the final was the second Saturday in May, for reasons I don’t know.

Wrexham Away on a Tuesday…big bugger

We lost 1-4 at home to MK Dons on 30th April 2017.

Interestingly, up to the end of the year, we have 8 saturday home games but 11 Saturday away games. Seems a bit of an imbalance to me?

Wouldn’t be surprised to see any given mid week game involving Wrexham on the tele

Dont go cockle picking while your up there to fill your freezer !!

Need to watch a few reruns of The Bay to familiarize …

Also, first 10 games is 4 home and 6 away. Since every team needs a decent start to set the tone for the season, I’m again surprised at this imbalance.

Morecambe and Grimsby should be wins with some decent signings in next few weeks.

Was going to say Crewe aswell but have a terrible record v them in last decade so that’s a game which Sadler needs to win to get a prolonged honeymoon period.

First fixture I looked out for is Notts County away and happy to see Harrogate away is on a Saturday this season.

This actually looks the most interesting league two has been, plenty of decent away trips so just need a decent team now…

Good chance both our games vs them could be televised. As the other will be in that Christmas week.

As an aside just how bad is the font on the clubs fixture release attachment, can barely read the team names and can’t make out which games are home or away.
