Stats are misleading. I haven’t thought we were under the cosh, maybe for small seconds. Overall very solid in defence, plus some good moments in offence and it was enough. And transfer window will be open in few days, we probably gelled, so many reasons to be optimistic. Or rather should be better from now. Good win for Boxing Day.

Performance of the season so far. No doubt. 2-0 away win at a team we always seem to struggle against.
Very solid throughout. Somebody lock McDonald in Jeff’s disused underground lair beneath the Poundland stand.

Superb 2nd half defensive display won every ball that got threw into our box, excellent work rate from the lads, it wasnt pretty but did what we needed to get a result, performances will come it’s just about being robust at the min with the games coming thick and fast, strengthening in January will only help this run we are on, and hopefully push for the playoffs

Just need to kick start our home form now after 2 great results on the road with confidence gained.
2 very winnable home games against 2 struggling teams we must win these and go to Salford in a much more positive frame of mind from players and supporters and also a chance to improve the team in a few days. UTS

What a win today! Lots of Bristol Rovers fans predicted a slow start from DC’s teams, two great results away from home, let’s hope this is a turning point. UTS!

Just on my way back now. I boo’d him. He was crap. He shushed fans a few weeks ago against Darlington cos of a few moans and groans and until he proves his worth he’ll be disliked because of it. Simple as that really.
On a more positive note, great win. We looked so organised. Gordon did so much when he came on, fantastic. Alfie Bates, special special player. Up the Saddlers. Maybe a better review of the game when the beers wear off.

That’s simply a fantastic win. Would’ve been happy with a point just like Saturday.
Walsall are 9th in the away league table, 21st for home form. That shows you why the season has been a fail so far.
Get two wins v beatable opposition in next two and suddenly the season looks interesting again.
Edit: Was looking at the tables before today’s games, fifth away win so that’s as good if not better than some of the teams in the top 7.
Clinical defensive display by the lads today.
Smash and grab for the goals. Lavery should have scored in the first half. Gaffney offers absolutely nothing up front, send him back to Salford without a thank you note!
We need to sign McDonald before someone else does. Bates showed what an exciting player he is going to be, took his goal well.
We finally have a fully fit squad which now gives DC more options as the games are coming thick and fast at this time of the year.
Going to Exeter and Scunthorpe and getting 4 points is impressive, I had hoped for 2 points, it should have been 6!
