I’m not sure if you were at the Darlington game, but for Gaffney to be shushing fans after his performance that day was never going to go down well - especially in light of the contempt that the majority of last season’s squad had for the fan base.
My point on Rory is, for 2 and a half seasons he was integral to DC and Bristol rovers in their automatic promotion to league 1. Salford paid bigger money to get him, he scored goals and helped get them promoted last season, their manager was willing to let him go to Walsall on loan, he was happy to reconnect with DC. He arrives, a slow start but lord the negativity from a large majority of fans on line but at games, his own fans booing him , says absolutely more about them than him… Shocking immaturity from grown men…
I’ve supported Walsall for nearly 50 years Tom and have attended hundreds of games home and away, witnessed some horrific performances and watched some of the worse players to have played for us. I have never once booed a player during a game.
I don’t get it at all.
I was not at the game with the ‘shushing’ incident. I just feel that when we are one up away from home and coming under pressure that it can be counter-productive to have a go at one of the team on the pitch in such a way. (Notwithstanding that I had a moan to my friend when I saw that he was starting.)
At least all’s well that ends well!
Lets get this straight once and far all with you and many other people who all they do is slate there own god dam fans,
Gaffney came here and has done sweet ■■■■ all, nothing too suggest a run in the team will help, poor in every aspect, But then on the day the team has lost umpteen games on the run and are 1-0 too a Darlo team and he misses a sitter and other good chances and gives ■■■■ all and then comes in front of the home fans who have been paying too watch that ■■■■■ are sushed by him, its not much but as a fan who pays wages its enough too get ■■■■■■ off…
Do you go every week? Do you put you weekend and wages into this club? Do you not feel thats a slight ■■■■ take too honest fans, and its not just the “idiots” who boo its all sort of people who see what a poor idiot thing too do it was, and im sure before the season began LP asked for a truce between fans and players so dont put all the blame on the fans fault, Why not ask Gaffney too comment and apologise too fans who after all pay his god dam wage…
So so so many of you are so quick too jump too “slag” another fan off. Not just in this in so many circumstances and its ■■■■ poor, what happend too we come together we stick together…most of our lot would watch you burn and still slag you off…
Fix up its not always fans fault…
Sorry Butters, but plenty done share your view. Just because you choose to spend half your wages following Walsall doesn’t mean that you are right. I used work two part time jobs as a school kid to fund my Walsall watching and never booed our players during a game, whatever the situation.
But its ok too play ■■■■ and mug your own fans off?

I find it interesting that those who condone fans booing our own players are very quick to make it clear that they don’t actually do it themselves.
Why is that?
I understand why people were angry at him, just can’t see the reason to still be so bothered about it 7 weeks later.
