Stewart Mairs appointed Head of Football

Just wait till we appoint the new manager - likely a graduate trainee from Sainsbury’s….. Played for his local U13’s so has some playing experience

What I find slightly concerning is:

  • Fylde have 2 games left and need to win both for possible promotion and Mairs leaves.
  • No mention of his leaving on Fylde social media.

It implies to me that he isn’t that important to their success.

It’s not hard to work out where you end up if you keep appointing people with no league experience.

I get there are no doubt some great people work outside of the football league but to fill the ship with them seems a big gamble.

That made me chortle. I would like the first question any prospective employee of Walsall is asked at the interview - “do you have a legacy of misery?”

Reading his background, massive job for him. Wishing him luck (he’ll need it :joy::man_facepalming:) and every success.

Loaning us money at 12% interest and loading us with debt to increase the value of the assets they own - no malicious intent at all!!!

It looks like he will be building a solid foundation for the club by identifying undervalued assets, both on and probably off the pitch. He will probably emphasise statistics, adopting a kind of Moneyball approach. I wish him luck as it won’t be easy. I imagine everyone is doing it now, too.

Fu*k sake

Great forward planning from Trivela for when we reach non league

Some get it, some don’t, even after 3 years.

Not saying I agree with the strategy, but how you have described it is spot on.

Not just football. The fact the word “‘Men’s” is in there is enough to send you to the hills screaming

Presumably that’s to make it clear that he’s not responsible for Walsall Ladies teams! He’ll have enough on his hands with the Men’s teams!!

It was clear to me without it being explained

The irony is not lost…. He is another glorified agent…

Not going to get overly excited over his appointment, my only hope is that he improves us in whatever way he can, hopefully as soon as possible.

Big summer for him ahead, no doubt we’ll appoint a young manager alongside him, but whoever we appoint aslong as we get results, play decent football, score goals and ultimately get a promotion in the near future, then I’ll be happy.

No, wait for the head of kits to be appointed

What a load of b@ll@cks .. look him up… H of F with no EFL experience…own agency…must be a mate of H or Recruitmess… lining pockets…cant wait for experienced Sunday league manager next…

:joy:. Good name for a Goth Band too.

Recruitment should be a doddle now, we have enough people overseeing it.

Feels like an even more hands off on a daily basis from the trivela hierarchy. We’ll definitely appoint a young upcoming coach or one working in America….
