There was another rumour alongside the one predicting the Head of Football one suggesting that he was bringing the Fylde manager along with him. He has virtually no league experience as a player and is only 36 years old.
Weâll need 11 years on Prozac if this âincremental progressâ keeps up.
Wonder if thatâs why Byfield was left in charge until end of season. Wonder if he wanted to see the job through at AFC Fylde seeing as they are top.
Theyâre 2nd now on goal difference
Testing time ahead for Stewart .will he become little Stew, or Big Stew
Then why bother appointing all these people. They could make even more money.
Get him in now. He has overseen a glorious rise to the top and a possible bottle job. Heâll do.
Yawn

I would rather have someone like Darren Ferguson taking full control of club than having an inexperienced DOF and probably manager has mentioned above. Was never going to happenâŚ. Trivela like Yes menâŚ.
Im trying to make all this make sense, but sadly failing. It used to be a case of a Chairman selects a manager to build a team to play football and hopefully do well. If not, get a new manager. We now have so many positions upstairs its difficult to know who is responsible for what. I feel for the new Head Coach whoever it may be.
If I think of it with non footballing knowledge it seems from the outside that players will be selected to join the club based on a roulette of statistics - irrespective of whether the player can control or pass a ball - history tells us this.
The Head Coach then has to make this ensemble of players selected by Guinevere to perform as a team (likely without the right attributes) who can then be sold at a profit.
If it all goes tits up then all the hierarchy will point the finger at the poor Head Coach. Shit really does flow downhill. And we really are shit heavy up top.
But possibly not to others not as intelligent as you!![]()

Iâm genuinely struggling to understand Trivelaâs strategy
Weâll have a bigger executive team than first team at this rate - all headed up by Big & Little (Ben) and Pombear - what could possibly go wrongâŚ..
No doubt we are top heavy. I think the new appointment should absorb the head of recruitment position. We donât need both. On a more positive note alot of clubs at our level have this model. A couple of interesting articles to read on the Notts County data model which they feel is the most advanced in all of football. Also in the current set up our Head Coach has been answerable to Pomlett who admitted he knows nothing about Football and Trivela who have shown they know nothing. Matt Jordan was rarely if ever present in person. At least now we have an actual football person in place. Would have preferred greater league experience but time will tell.
Who the fook is he
Pomlett was supposedly going at the end of this season, not sure whatâs happening with that. We have a head of football whoâs working alongside a chief sporting officer along with a head of recruitment. Seems a bit overkill for a league 2 club. If one of them could figure out how to deal with January then maybe itâll all be worth it.
Iâm sure Pomlett said (we all know he has spouted a lot in the past) he wonât leave until Walsall are in league 1. IIRC this has been on a few occasions.
How old is he? He may not live that long.
I just want Trivela to be clear and transparent about how the club is actually being run.
Who is responsible for setting the style of play?
Who has the final say on player recruitment?
Who is picking the starting eleven each week?
What is the defined role of the Head of Recruitment, and why is that position necessary when we have an head of football?
And most importantly, how much of the playing budget is being diverted to fund the expanded staffing structure?
At the moment, it feels unclear where accountability sits. What weâll likely hear is that everything is a âteam effortâ and that everyone is aligned with the clubâs philosophy, but that doesnât really answer the question of who is ultimately responsible for what.
Iâm more than happy to get behind this new staffing structure if the above is answered honestly and made clear.
