The Mat Sadler Thread

I don’t think they do single-word conclusions any more.

Bring back the Anglo-Italian Cup I say!

Yes, the Anglo-Italian Cup! I did think there was an attempt to do something like that but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

recruitment seems to have improved - Barett, Jellis, Simkin & Lowe all improvements on what we had last term. Lakin solid.

What Matt is doing here will not go un- noticed, and I dread the idea of MS leaving us. It will be akin to when DS left, and it has taken us so long to recover.

Matt’s management skills are 2nd to non (I questioned it over the DJ saga), and it is plainly obv the players love playing for him.

Also, we are building a great rapport with local clubs now, esp Stoke, who completely trust us with their future stars.

Long may it continue.

Sir Mat Sadler .Has a sort or ring to it hey

How about an extended Trivela Cup with LOI, Welsh Premier, NI Premier and Scottish Championship sides. TNS or Queen’s Park away anyone?

I am not so sure it will be the same because the Trivela approach has been to change the culture. I was reasonably happy with Sadler’s appointment mainly for the reason that it was something different from the usual run of old lags. Most of our best teams have been led by rookie managers. And the emphasis on good people, the experienced coaching staff - Byfield and Waddock are rarely interviewed but are part of the way we do things - ROK, will all tend to offer continuity if Sadler leaves.

So you don’t want him sacked now?

This thread is wild from start to finish. What a rollercoaster.

We will find out when someone offers 200k for Barrett if we jump at the first offer or not.

Jocks already did that with the SPFL Trophy, although they’ve stopped now.

Reckon they should ditch the EFL Trophy and create a pan British tournament for lower league teams (without PL U21s), although English teams would disproportionately dominate I suppose.

I’m working on the theory that they’ll be looking at a Scottish club next and maybe then a Welsh oe to add to the Trivela stable.
Sadly as Queens Park are still amateurs it won’t be them Stenhousemuir anyone?

Always had a soft spot for Ayr United, so hope it’s them or Gretna FC

Not today

Only if we are losing at half time

Be great if they went for my former hometown club Carmarthen Town!

Suggested ages ago that a Scottish club would potentially be next, Yanks love Scotland almost as much as Ireland. Very much doubt they’d bother with a Welsh club though, really not worth it financially, and the standard of player is awful (have played with/against players from the Welsh pyramid, and they’d never ever make it in league football).

Caley Thistle are back on the market and looking like they’re heading for administration. Be a great club to add to the stable.

But potentially easy option for European football nights. Bit like the Irish league but not as high standard.
