Is there any evidence for that? For example, quotes from players?
What the Morocco Mole said in his post basically sums up every clubs recruitment journey. Players move or donât move for all of those reasons. Money, personality, style of play.
Stoke let us have Simkin who also seemed tp delighted to be here. He is also in the England set up where he will be expected to be excellent with his feet and play wide and into midfield short and sharp passes. He wonât be asked to do that much here. I imagine geographically the move made sense and he will get good minutes.
I would be more worried if we are chasing out and out ball players for the forward positions as they just wonât fit Sadlers style.
And can you blame players for thinking that way? Lowest percentage of possession in the bottom rung of the EFL. As a striker for example, I wouldnât want to be chasing aimless long balls for nigh on 90 minutes.
That is something the club should be worried about imo.
I agree but the club clearly arenât. They have extended Sadlers contract.
As I said I am more worried that if true we are attempting to recruit players that donât suit our style.
I may be wrong on this one.
Why?
Just seen Conor Wilkinson roaming around, probably means nothing but thought he was contracted at Colchester so surprised heâs not there lol
Our football is depressingly poor
Was he on crutches?
Desperation eh. Boycott will probably sign him as his face is on the Poundland billboard. Technically gifted but finished.
Not for me
Wilko would need a trial to prove fitness
Technically a very good player but would not suit our style at all
How would he fit, he says himself he is not a striker!
Even if he does sign doesnât resolve our striker issues for me.
Yep, I agree. Mentioned on another thread, he fits our system and âstyleâ even less than DJ supposedly does so wouldnât make any sense.
Conor wilkinson at the game.
And Romaine Sawyers
Romaine sawyers is here as well sat by me
Not reading too much into it or getting my hopes up, but youâd hope Sawyers attending has more to it than an old player, who is local and decides on watching his old team. Iâd love to see him back, even if it is short term so he can prove himself.
Interesting that Wilkinson is also at the match. Youâd think with him being under contract at Colchester that heâd be with them at their match than over hundred miles away at his old club.
Wouldnât mind Wilkinson back, heâs got genuine talent.
