Our squad is waiver thin.
Everyone who was fit was in the squad on Saturday bar RAM.
Weāre unlikely to see Comley for 6/8 weeks, Daniels 10/12 weeks and we donāt know about DJ.
Sawyers would cover the cracks in midfields and offer vital experience. I donāt like the lack of possession approach and Sawyers may give us more control.
Iām not a big fan of Wilkinson, apart from his hattrick against Newport (2 for us and 1 for them). He was offloaded by Motherwell and now Colchester.
Having said that, a contract through to January with an option might motivate him and benefit us and help until DJ is fit and / or DJT is recalled from his loan. I agree he doesnāt fit the Sadler style (neither does DJ), but something different as a sub might be worthwhile.
We need at least 3 additions urgently.

Sadler said 3/4 weeks for Comley and 5/6 weeks for Daniels.

Daniels is having his op this week and then 6 weeks after that I believe so likely to be October in reality.

Goal keepers Simkin and Hornby plus a youngster
Centre backs three positions for Mcentee, the priest,Allen, Williams,Weir Dave and DD to fight over
RWB Adohmah and Barrett and McEntee filled in Sat
LWB Gordon Weir and Allen
Midfield Stirk Larkin, Jellis, Comley, Maher, Earing plus McEntee as per last season. Three spots could bring another playmaker but we also Thomas on the fringes numbers are ok imho
Upfront we all know
However we injuries will happen to us and everyone else imho except upfront numbers are fine

We need 2 forwards minimum, with DJās issues, Jamma can only last 45 minutes and can see Flash serving a few suspensions. If wilko is cheap enough can see him and a young loan,

Idea if the miracle of sawyers returning happens, 5-3-1-1 with Sawyers attacking midfield and a goalscorer up front it would mean weād only need 1 striker instead of 2, weād have more creativity and hopefully keep the ball better and overall weāll probably play better, wonāt happen because sawyers probably wonāt sign and Sadler wonāt change formation but very interesting idea

Yeah spot on 2 forwards at least. Be great if DJ can get back firing, but as it stands the only senior forward we have at the moment is Gordon who can last 90 mins, Jamma is effective in 30-45 min spells.
It would be nice if we could get a decent loan in - those suggested from Stoke and WBA would be great, although their inclusion in first team squads at the weekend make that seem a tough ask, and an experienced player of our own.
I cant believe weāre still talking about this after the first match of the season which is disappointing but Saturday we bought ourselves another few days.

Sawyers isnāt an attacking midfielder, played as a defensive midfielder at West Brom and Cardiff.

Yes has played CDM role as kind of quarter back role in the Championship so would ace it two leagues lower. I would worry if he has the ability to break up play like Stirk or Comley however.
But it is two leagues lower than he has been playing imho he could still do an attacking role at this level as long as no one snaps him in two
I wonder if weād be in for St Johnstone forward Stevie May. Surplus to requirements there now but only 31, heās a workhorse for sure and would fit Sadball perfectly.

I very much doubt we will sign Sawyers but my God, a bit of quality added to this side would be welcomed. Get him and a goal scorer in, or even a fully fit DJ and Iāll be laughing.
