I’m not worried about a lack of signings. With a contacts list as exhaustive as DC’s it’s going to take a long time to get through everyone…
I get that and agree completely but should we not sign anyone in this window, the club would have no excuses in the summer to not pull out all the stops and get some real quality in and if they didn’t I think that would show where we really are in terms of ambition to get out of this league
But like you say, if we are ambitious and do still want this season to be successful, we’d be looking to do the business this month
Agree fully, I also don’t think Summer guarantees us any success. Our last few summer dealings have been awful.
No wonder he was offended, he is of British Indian descent

So we can rule out these two then.
Someone on twitter saying DC is keen on signing Freddie Hinds off Brizzle City, 19 year old CF who has hardly kicked a ball let alone score goals. Been on loan at fellow league two side Colchester since August and hasn’t featured for them from what I can see.
Before that was on loan at the mighty Bath City and Wrexham.
Is this really the best we can manage.
That’s what we’ll get paying ■■■■ wages even at this level can’t see any proven players coming in hope I’m wrong
We are in a worse position financially than we were led to believe.
Or, LP is not prepared to invest in the rest of the season as much.
Either way, it’s been decided to stop the rot first.
Writing the season off is either a loser mentality, or perhaps, not trying to run before we can walk.
I don’t think we are in any position to come down to this division and start shouting the odds.
If this financial management is with a view to uniting the freehold, then it’s definitely worth it.
If it’s to keep reserves for a proper go next year, it’s worth it.
If it’s just to service the rent, then we’re all losers.
Yep agreed with that.
I think we may well have ■■■■■■■ any spare cash on signing up Wes. Potentially money well spent if he continues to develop and we can move him on for a few £££’s but it has probably meant some signings DC was potentially looking at are no out of reach.
Let’s face it we are not going to go ANYWHERE this season either up or down, so i wouldn’t be bothered if we didn’t make a groundbreaking signing, let’s just save some money for next season when it will make a real difference, the only thing that is annoying is people are paying good money to see some of the dross on offer at the moment, and as a paying customer it isn’t very good value for money, but we have some walsall footy fanatics and a real hardcore of at least 2500 loyal fans that will turn up every week because that’s just who they are.good job realy because they keep the club ticking over.
I keep returning to this thread when I see new posts in the vain hope that there will actually be some news of imminent signings or even rumours of them but no, nothing, zip…
I realise that in posting this I’ve caused some other poor demented saddlers sufferers to raise their hopes - only to have them dashed when they read this…
Hell no, could you imagine how much wages would be used on the treatment table with him and Guthrie?
Getting really ■■■■■■ off with the lack of transfer activity. We need better players and we need to make strides in this league. As someone put it in a previous post the play offs will be difficult to achieve this season. But we have had a to many recent seasons with a losing mentality. We need momentum now and bit of activity and optimism to give us fans some hope. And get us rid of this depression.
I’m really getting frustrated at the lack of activity.
We have a manager that has harped on about the difficult task he has ahead of him, how it will take 2-3 windows to get the squad right, that back in September and October and November how he can’t wait to get 3 or 4 in during January and move out the weak minded and improve the quality as in his words ‘we are a million miles away from where I want us to be’
What you waiting for DC ?
We would have to sign Ronaldo Messi Aguero De Brunye and luis suarez to make any difference to our season now
DC would play de bruyne left back and Aguero centre half anyway so it wouldn’t matter.
And Messi in goal
In 2015/16 when we just missed out on promotion to the Championship by 1 point, we only signed 3 new players in the preceding summer. We already had the nucleus of a strong, settled team in place. I think we should look to make a few decent signings now, a strong central midfielder and a right-sided midfielder/winger at the very least. Let’s get some momentum and bed in a settled side, ready for a real go at promotion next season. We also need to get rid of some dead wood: Guthrie, Guffney, Sadler and possibly Holden, Hardy and Candlin.
Yh defo mate ronaldo’s injured but I don’t know how long for not even his family have been told this information by the manager.
