The Official Transfer Rumours Thread 2019 summer edition

The honeymoon is over for Pomlett I’m afraid after these latest press releases. Darrell has openly contradicted his increased investment statements etc by admitting we are broke and unable to compete in this league.

Seem to be getting so many likes to my posts. Maybe it’s cos I’m telling it like it is.

Enjoy it while it lasts :joy:

Nope, your stating an opinion, potentially valid opinion but that’s still what it is.

Serious question, if uncle pension pot was still club owner, do you believe that the playing squad would be allocated more funds than now?

Wow… Keep going on the likes guys. Anyway update from Bescot is that Darrell has been given a good old slap by Leigh for revealing the truth. So let’s wait for Wednesdays press release where he will be uncontradicting his contradiction making a statement that he has got money to spend pre transfer window

What a complete joke we are

It’s the same PR from the club every year however in League 2 they cannot peddle the same nonsense. League 1 we fell for it and put up with it, in League 2 I refuse to believe we ain’t a top ten side with our budget.

Clarke knew his budget when he came here so he needs to shut up, stop tinkering with the side and just get on with it.

Absolutely 100 pct yes. And significant. In the hundreds of thousands

I have been largely positive to the club since the Summer, even with October’s nightmare, but DC’s reference to lack of money and today’s comments about wages, has got under my skin. I feel just as pessimistic as I did during the Bonser years, if not worse, as we were mainly in the division above!

Bloody hell, another difficult couple of games and out come the finances rubbish again. He knew his budget when he brought in his friends from Bristol Rovers, his old friend from Bristol Rovers but then at Salford and Liddle and Guthrie. I’ve criticised the club loads over the last few years but I won’t criticise them for not giving in to any manager who kicks up a fuss about a budget he must have known before taking the job. Get on with it.

Okay, why do you believe that. What evidence and trends do you base that view on?

Have been looking at the gashead forum at the time DC left Bristol Rovers when he fell out with the board. Some really interesting posts…

I think it’s pretty obvious. When your in the market for players like Gaffney, Liddle, Facey. Players not good enough. Reserve players from smaller clubs in our own league. What do u think about it?

If they keep contradicting themselves in interviews why is the next question being asked not questioning that? Leigh / Darrell, you said this and promised that for so long but why are you now saying that and this instead?

Were any properly probing questions asked at the fans forum the other week or not? It was the perfect chance and hold them to account on what has been said since October.

I like Clarke. Apart from his constant tinkering. But he’s too honest. He’s blown the party line from Pomlett, Mole, Gamble by admitting we cannot compete at this level. This raises lots of serious questions something that definitely would be unwelcome. It will be interesting to see how it evolves

Seems like history repeating itself from his time at Bristol

There is no evidence or trends.

@Gensanx123 is a huge supporter of Bonser and has had an issue with Pomlett ever since he took over. That’s his opinion, so fair enough I respect it, but he really doesn’t like being challenged on it.

There’s never any acknowledgement from him that it was JB’s mismanagement of the club over countless years that had led us to this point.

Pomlett has been in charge for about six months, I’m sorry but turning the tide in a decaying organisation that is still forking out hundreds of thousands of pound a year to its previous owner is not a simple or quick task.

Has Pomlett made mistakes - absolutely.

Is he the ultimate saviour from Jeff? Probably not.

Would I rather be where we are now than still be completely under Bonser’s clutches? Absolutely.

At the fans forum there was no hint that the money had run out. As I posted earlier we were led to believe that an experienced winger was on his way to us. It was the Manager said that and also during the evening there was no hint that he was unhappy with the budget. Just the opposite in fact.
Now I am supportive of LP and what he is trying to do but I don’t like being misled so I think the Manager should clarify this matter as soon as possible. It was him who said on numerous occasions that he had money to spend in the January window.
I wouldn’t bother too much about signing anyone myself…I would prefer summer recruitment but when people make statements about funding they should remember that we expect them to be honest with us.

But it was his line too…indeed it was only his line. He has said numerous times he had money to spend in January . At the fans focus meeting he was the one who said an experienced winger would be coming in and he gave no indication he was unhappy with the budget.

I think we are still under the influence of uncle pension pot. With funds potentially leaving the club to pay him off for the club/ loans.

Yep agreed
