Priestley Farquharson out for a ‘significant amount of time’ with a torn quad muscle.
Probably looking at February/March before he’s back

Is it worth him coming back, he must be on the highest wages per game played. I think Williams will be established as 1 of the 3 center halves by the time he’s fit again, and for how long will he stay fit this time?
Sadly I reckon that’s him pretty much done for us, good defender and athlete, but his muscle injury record is abysmal.
24 games since he signed, and this is his 3rd significant injury.
Yep , time to move on from. Great on his day but just a massive liability fitness wise. Anyone know how long is left on his contract ?
Oh what a surprise, Lalique Farq is injured again, as Cilla would say “ Surprise, surprise “ I had a wager with a couple of mates before the season kicked off who I thought would be the earliest on the treatment table. The usual candidates were recognised ie Daniel’s, Farq, Earing, Matt. No surprise to read about Farq then , if correct, a waste of wages and someone we can’t carry any longer , pay him off now, just waiting for Earing to be allocated his treatment slot.Oooops how could I forget McEntee.
Good player but far too injury prone he was the same at Newport
Best write Farqs off. He might play a couple of cameos later on in the season, but he’s there for team bonding only right now. He’s one of us, so while his injury is our problem, so is mental health. Here’s hoping his recovery is swifter than expected, and his return longer.
Players don’t get injured on purpose . To pay any of them off because of injury would not be good for the Club. I hope he soon recovers and helps us achieve our aims. As EXILE says he needs looking after and that is what the Club should do.
Gutted for Priestly - he did the media interview the day before the Tranmere game and he was saying how happy he was this season so for this to happen is a real blow.
So from my effort the other day, the two changes are that PF moves out into spring 2025 and DJ is off the table?
I think Adomah and Liam will also be off the table on Saturday but let’s see. We really need Mcentee available because suddenly from having three spare centre halves we could just be left with the three who are still standing.
We do…I think a move into the free agent market might be a good thing as someone else has suggested. The way we play makes huge demands on our centre backs and at the moment we are relying on two inexperienced players plus Allen and Weir who are new to the role. We don’t have a match next Tuesday so perhaps Gordon and McEntee might be fit for Bradford but then we have 3 weeks of 2 games a week. If they haven’t recovered by then a further CB would be useful.
George Bennett, E&S reporter, posted this on X.
Looks like we are down to the three available centre backs for a while.
DD will be back next month hopefully.
Farq and Oisin currently unknown when they are back.
The only other player that I can think of that can also play CB is Comley. Think its next month for him too.
EDIT. We also have Weir, presuming he isn’t covering for Liam Gordon at LWB…
Guess we just have to go to a classic 4 at the back if we get another injury.
I thought weir played well against hudds and can more than cover at centre back
Did say we should loan in a CB pre-deadline.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see them dip into the free agent market if needed. So not too concerned! May end up with a better quality CB than we could’ve attracted before ironically with the start that we’ve made and also them still remaining unemployed
It’s a real shame for Farq as in my opinion he’s our best defender. Chap who sits by me hit the nail on the head saying that he’s the reincarnation of Matt Carbon. Absolute Rolls Royce, but just can’t keep him on the pitch for long enough. Again, if he didn’t have his injury issues he’d be playing far higher up the pyramid. The only real blessing is that we’ve refined our recruitment process and identified players that can step in without too much fuss
My only worry is that Sadler will bring Daniels in at the first opportunity but I’m hoping he’s learned his lesson from last season and gives him enough time to be able to regain full fitness rather than derail a back three that has been really solid so far
Liam Gordon should have been on international duty. I’d guess, he would have gone by now normally, but are we allowed to play him on Saturday, anyway? Personally, I doubt if he will be fit.
Carbon copy?
