If we don’t win this it’s worrying. Doesn’t get much easier at home in the bottom level of professional football.
If Priestley is still out and with Hussey misding who is the back 3 going to be? Or do we play a 4 with Foulkes and Gordon conventinal full backs with Daniels and McCentee in the middle.
Good question.
It’s either Allen or Williams in… or a switch.
I assume he will just bring Williams in.
Are we expecting to sign a center back today though?
I think he should switch but fear he will bring Allen in with the same midfield 3 as last week.
New signing seems unlikely now and in any case probably wouldn’t start.
Got a slight feeling that we may see Priestley start.
With the reshuffles and imbalances this seems a tough game to me.
When ever asked about Priestley the answer is he is almost there…nearly ready … He happy to put numbers on the other two injuries but never with Priestley.
I think that DJ will turn up for this one and show the Colchester supporters what they could have had for £150,000 in January when they tried to sign him from Mansfield.
Instead of the Bebeto baby cradle goal celebration (that he did for his first goal), the shoelace (his second of this season) and the spinning disk DJ trademark, I predict a ‘fun coupons’ loadsamoney goal celebration a la ‘’Wolf of Wall Street’!
It was mate. I’m guessing 3 wins in 31 does that to people. The ground isn’t designed to capture noise either though and that’s not an excuse it was as you say embarrassingly quiet.
Need a win here with what looks like a tough run to come. 1-0 win, DJ with the goal. Anything less and I could see us being in the bottom two by the end of this month.
Knowing us we’ll lose this then go and beat Salford and Swindon though.
I sit in the lower
“I KNOW MY PLACE “
I’m sure an expensively assembled Gillingham outfit who were absolutely flying and a buoyant home audience thought the same last weekend and look how that turned out. This game is not at all straight forward and we will have to be on it to win, but the good news is I think we will be.
I’d like to think we will scrape a win but my predictions are almost always wrong .
I expected us to win at Morecambe
Draw at home to Stockport draw at Wrexham and beat Grimsby.
Erm anyway I think I’ll keep me gob shut.
Please do
Not sure why I’m feeding this troll but:
I didn’t say we should be complacent, and nowhere did I express a confidence we would win, but the bottom line is, if you’re going to be anything more than bang average, these are the games you need to win. At a canter.
I remember the days of Minnie the Moocher echoing out from the home end, with each player having their name sang out #HappyDays
Little wonder there is ‘apathy’ around our stadium, years of failure and same old, same old losing mentality.
We are constantly fed the mantra that ‘this’ year things will be different, but they never are. Our new era saviours have carried on in Bonser’s footsteps…keep things tight, lets not change things or overspend!
Our oppositions come to the Bescot feeling that we are the team that ‘keeps on giving’ 3 points usually, if the opposition cannot take advantage of our ‘go on then, we know we are no good’ offer, we usually give 'em a draw anyway!
When I do come down I am always disappointed at the dreary atmos, arrive excited as hell, leave frustrated as hell, then on to the M6 car park after waiting an hour to get past the wheelbarrow factory!
Quite. What on earth do people expect? Support has always been a two way street, blind clapping only exists on message boards and social media and within an agenda. At matches you get a far truer read out of the atmosphere (and crucially the swathes of empty seats), because literally everybody is there who is still left over to actually give a shit about the club, and take notice beyond a laptop screen, or refreshing the BBC app.
I had my access taken away from me recently and it actually made me realise that most of the bollocks on here is just being shouted into the void. There were no ridiculous claims of a good performance and positivity in the crowds at the end of the Crewe game. Not many Walsall fans wondering around with a big old smile on their face. Nor were there trudging up the road post Grimsby after a performance as turgid as anything that has been served up in the last few years. Nobody was talking about signs of progression then.
Because they’ve all actually paid their money and all actually watched the luke warm crap being served up at the moment.
We’ve lost two of our last 14 at home in the league
Glad to see u back
Indeed, at least a guy who sees reality, and doesn’t sit around with rose tinted glasses, telling us all how wonderful things are.
