W 1-0 vs Rochdale (H) - League Two - Sat 29th Oct, 3pm

He was fantastic defensively, but my God was he bad with the ball at his feet. He’s been fantastic defensively all season to be fair.

I can’t defend some of his play today though, it was like watching somebody who’d never played football at times. Maybe we wouldn’t have been under as much pressure if him and Evans hadn’t kept pumping the ball straight out of play, or in Monthes case straight to the oppo.

I couldnt care less how we win as long as we win. We played Bradford off the park not that along ago and lost and I feel a damn sight better tonight than I did then.

Top half, 4 points off the play offs, 14 points in October, won the last 4 at home and people still having a moan.

Important note - we are the current form team in the division

Saw one steward roughly shoving another down the tunnel (like he was reluctant to go there), and a third slung off his hi-vis jacket and went charging down.

@RedandWhite reckoned they were giving out pies and the stewards didn’t want to miss out.

Or they were only paid until 5pm.

What?

Oh my.

Can we have a word for Hayden White? Solid in defence and one goal saving intervention and he scored his first for the club which won us the game. I know he is not the most popular player but…

Absolutely. Nice to see him show up. Not so worried about him ploughing the ball into the net from three yards, but he certainly was much better at the back today.

Not bothered about him scoring the winning goal?

Not what I said. It doesn’t change my view of him as a player, any player should have scored that and it’s not what he’s in the side for.

HOWEVER (and why am I not surprised you tried to make a negative point out of what was actually a positive point)

He was in fact much improved at the back today (which is what he’s in the side for) and hope it continues.

Not trying to make any negative points . Good night

Walsall Fan TV Jnr (The Joy and the Pain) has been singing the praises of Hayden White for some time and he’s being proven right, plenty of humble pie to be eaten by a few in here. The Poundland is becoming a fortress and long may it continue, thoroughly looking forward to the debrief tomorrow.

One thing you should never be is wasteful in that department as your never quite sure when it’ll happen again.

Passing was awful …but he is a defender and him Daniels and White were absolutely immense at doing what they are in the team to do 1st and foremost and thats defending

Did you pop out for coffee when he cut inside in his own half and played a 60 yard pass that would’ve landed on DJs toe had he another half a yard of pace?

I love gritty wins like today. No stand out performers but a proper honest team performance that yielded the ultimate goal of three valuable points.

Well done. More of the same…:clap:

No, I’m saying he had 4 or 5 opportunities to do better with possession in a critical area and made poor choices (never once playing in his striker).

The point of having a man in the hole is to exploit defences with forward movement at such a close distance that they can’t stop it. I think Hutch has played well recently, but today he could have been better with how he used the possession he had
