W 1-0 vs Tranmere Rovers (H) - League Two - Sat 16th Dec, 3pm

I like it but, I think the ref counts the players at the start

Not a hope in hell that DJ will be involved, after all, getting goals ain’t important just so long as we provide ‘high press tactics’ and all the team study indoors on white boards how good Tranmere are. Training and coaching can wait.
I predict one up front again, probably the goal machine that is DJT and 9 defence minded combatants to try to stifle Tranmere’s attacking abilities. After all it’s not as though we are at home against a team that is 3rd from bottom of the 4th Division is it?
1-1.

Absolutely mate the football ruins the afternoon

Didn’t know Nigel Adkins was there manager. Seems to have turned things around for them and they’ve won 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6.

Should be due a loss then.

They haven’t won away since February. We all know what that means!

They promoted from within at the start of the season. Adkins was director of football. The internal appointment went tits up and Adkins took over.

Sadler in extremely bullish form in the pre match presser, I think he knows what a tough game tomorrow will be but we have the qualities to overcome such difficulty.

“No one rolls over and lets you tickle their bellies in football so it will be a tough game but we’re looking forward to a home league game in front of our supporters.

“I urge everyone to come up and get right behind us on Saturday because, as every League Two game is, it will be a hell of a battle, it will be incredibly tough and it will be a scrap at times. We are going to have to be high energy, front foot and giving absolutely everything to win the game and we’ll need everyone to come with us on that.”

I’m getting a bit annoyed with this line of asking supporters to back the team - that’s emanated the last two weeks.

The club’s supporters have backed the team, stayed patient for years and years, been in numbers away from home, hit the 5k average last season, and had to put up with dross year on year.

I think we generally do stay with the players - as long as it’s not appalling. It’s only when it’s got really bad when it’s become toxic inside the stadium.

Take Saturday for instance, the only way it would get toxic would be if we went 2-0 down in ten minutes.

Well…pick a team that knows how to score, not a team that is trying ‘not to lose’! Fans have only so much patience when it comes to seeing a team put out that is clamouring for a point in a boring 0-0 ‘win’ at home. Would love to have a good Saturday night again after another decent performance… but probably asking too much…

I’m sure that Walsall beat Tranmere to the signing of Jama last January. Surely, he will be up for proving why Walsall were right to invest in him.

We know he can’t run but he does have attributes that can cause problems at league two level. I also think DJ can play a part as a fox in the box, even if it is off the bench.

I am a firm believer that a striker who scores should start the next game. Hopefully, some service from midfield can provide our strikers with ammo. About time that Knowles got an assist or two…

“We are going to have to be high energy, front foot”…before he asks for supporters to get behind the team, I’d suggest he deliver the type of football we were promised in the summer… Come on Mat, let’s see it for a change!!!. Did we even have more possession than Alfreton the other night?. The supporters in my opinion have been extremely supportive and deserve a side that competes at the top end of the table!!. Time for the whole club to deliver on the promises. UTS

Just got tickets for tomorrows game, I only get to see games in September, December and Easter due to work commitments so I’m hoping for another win to add to the collection.

Would love to see more then one up front at home.
