Just a gentle reminder as we celebrate Beating Mansfield like we have won the Cup, (and believe me I did so much ‘celebrating’ I couldn’t make head nor tail of the Premiershite games late last night) This is ‘Mansfield’…we know they are going to be in the 3rd Division next year, but doesn’t this show how we as a club have stagnated completely as our perennial oppositions relentlessly progress?
We are still too inconsistent, we manage to beat teams at the top but falter against lower league outfits.
For once wouldn’t it be great to have some degree of success…NOW, not the usual “It might be better next season” crud that we feed ourselves. Our season will be defined by the results against the likes of Harrogate (who are currently really poor) and Morecambe. Win against such teams and we can talk of a top half finish, lose to 'em like we usually do, and as someone so eloquently stated above we can secure 16th spot as our own (again).
Meanwhile, I am full of confidence… Up the bloomin Saddlers!!!
I would imagine that he sees his 50 odd post match interviews as a chore. I certainly would, especially after a poor result/performance.
Like most managers, he speaks in football cliches, whilst trying to be inoffensive (avoiding criticising officials and players) and positive.
I take little notice of them.
You mean our perennial oppositions like Scunthorpe, Oldham and Southend. No one over celebrates wins like yesterday. Most of us were pleased , of course, and it was a good performance tinged with some luck but you don’t seem to understand where we are as a club. We have suffered since DS left us with run of poor managers coupled with a chronic lack of investment in all things football. The end of the Bonser years then the covid pandemic and then the LP period whilst he tried to sell the club were not helpful.
When Trivela came in we were almost starting again. A poor youth system, very few players on more than a I year deal and the infrastructure in need of repair. Improvements have been made in all areas and I for one think progress has been made. I get fed up at times with the consistent negativity of some on here. Am I a “happy clapper” as some call people like me ? No I am not I want to see us competing at the top of the table. I really want to see us in the next division competing at the top of the table but unlike some think we can do it as long as Trivela provide funds for forward players who would lift the whole team to new heights.
I also doubt we’d get the continued good responses to poor performances or poor spells (like yesterday) if after games like Crawley he comes out and tells everyone that the performance was crap and that certain players had let him and the crowd down by running around alot but not scoring……
Nailed it!
Where has anybody said he should? This must be at least five times you’ve made this false dichotomy.
One thing of note we have looked better with free kicks and corners since Knowles has been told to keep away from them.
It is not easy to give comments after a match, particularly after a defeat. That is why I think he should learn from people who do it a lot better than him.
Nobody is saying that this is one of the most important parts of his job, but as someone who likely thinks of himself as a manager who will go on to bigger and better clubs, he ought to make an effort to improve.
I suspect that he thinks that he is fantastic at talking on camera about our matches, and that nobody at the club as ever hinted that he is not.
Every single post match that we’ve lost or been poor most posters claim that it annoys them that Sadler isnt more candid in his assessment / criticism of the perfect as a team and individually.
Thats where people have said he should. Simple as that.
And number 6. He could be more candid without telling “everyone that the performance was crap and that certain players had let him and the crowd down by running around alot but not scoring……” But you know that.
You’ve rarely made a worthwhile point so I wouldn’t expect you to understand anything to do with emphasising to make a point.
You’re just constantly looking to dissect my posts.
I’m flattered
You know that’s not what people are saying. An honest assessment of a defeat like Nigel Clough gave yesterday won’t do anything to harm the players. Talking positive just for the sake of it is just annoying for supporters, in the same way that the England cricket team are doing it at the moment. We’re not thick, we can tell a poor performance when we see it, so it’s inevitably going to get people’s back up.
It doesn’t matter!! Clough can afford to be a little more critical if needs be, he has an older more experienced said with much higher expectations and ambitions (right now).
I’m perfectly happy with Sadler remaining positive and upbeat even when we’ve lost because I can see why he’s doing it and respect it.
To be honest if Sadler told me it was brilliant and half the posters on here said it was Shite I’d believe Sadler anyway!!
Thing is we have a very solid team going into next year if we add a few additions where needed
For me
Smith
Rwb mcentee priest daniels Gordon
Cdm who controls game / Comley
Earing hutch
New striker partnership
Under a Good manager is a play of team
But the wing back assist issue and having no good striker goal scoring at the team is a huge issue to solve in the summer
No ,as you’ve repeatedly been told, you’re distorting to make a point. There is a perfectly valid halfway house between the two approaches, but as I say, I think you know that.
If you think I know that then stop getting hooked in off the first post ya clown!
I’m completely shocked you think that !!!
No you’re not
I’m not the one dumb enough to have prolonged arguments with the board troll.
I thought you were doing that now? Or do you mean me with you?
