W 3-0 vs Morecambe (H) - League Two - Tue 20th Feb, 7:45pm

Does anyone have any news on Daniels and Farquharson?

I heard Daniels was out for c6 weeks on Saturday, but not heard anything re PF.

Watched this via iFollow from the comfort of the sofa. Have to say it was a pleasing result and performance, especially from the infant defence! Can’t recall Smith having to make a save of note. Lots of Morecambe possession looked pretty but ultimately pointless, no dynamism or cutting edge in final third. Three good goals, two near misses from Isaac, we got the result we deserve. Despite all the positives I’ve gone for a draw at Harrogate…

Our back three were very good last night and it’s even more impressive when you add in the fact that they are relatively inexperienced.
A couple of things I thought about since last night, is Jamma more of an influential leader than DD.
Furthermore when he and the priest eventually return to match fitness would you bring them back in or stick with those who have done really well (so far).
I’d be interested in others views as at the moment i. think they deserve to continue in the team but what do you think.

He does it sometimes when the ball is 25 yards away … watch the build-up to our 3rd goal - when he received the ball he was in acres of space, so much so that I wondered how on earth was he not being marked, but of course the reason was that he had quite deliberately felled his marker while the officials were ball-watching! I have to say that for this old codger it resembles cheating, and I don’t really approve.

I would leave the kids together until such a time as they have a shocker or become fatigued. Its very much a squad game and players will at some point tire or hit a sticky patch.

I saw no cheating … just poor marking :rofl::rofl:

Yeah … right … just look at the build-up

I get what you’re saying, but he was constantly manhandled throughout the game. This time he gave some back.

I once went on a Mystery Tour to Morecambe - the mystery was: why?!!

Sounds like a Dean Smith side from circa 2013!!

If the defence carry on in the same vein,I can see Daniels and Farquharson going on the bench when fit,it’s only fair.

I haven’t watched many games this season but that was the best yet - even better than Grimsby as the whole team performed against a much better side than Grimmo.
I think if Matt had stayed on, he would have been MoM but Adegboyega was a worthy winner; wish he were one of ours. I loved the way the whole team defended when needed and, despite all their possession, Morks never really looked like scoring. They played too much possession football in their own half and seemed afraid to " look forward" (Quote from Bill Shankly). If we can string a few performances like that together - and stop dropping points to teams like Sutton - we should be in with a shout for the playoffs. I am not holding my breath because inconsistency has been the leitmotif of our season so far. But we do have the building blocks for a push - young, hungry players, a bit of pace in the team and a little flair, too. Oh, and an effective Big Man up front. What’s not to like. Go for it, lads!!

Can definitely see us try and re-sign him for next season, we tried getting him here permanently last summer but he went to Norwich instead.

I don’t want to resign him. Keep him here. Re-sign him .

It was great to see how young the team was that finished the game. Average age of just 22, with Earing the oldest at 25.

The defender got a taste of his own medicine .Matt got little protection all evening so perhaps there was a little bit of justice in him using his strength to create the opportunity . One further point I think the interpretation of the rules on physical contact this season has puzzled a lot of people. Shirt pulling , pushing often goes unpunished these days for reasons folk don’t understand. Some referees seem to let everything go!

League Two is having to work incredibly hard to keep us in 16th position. Making itself look a bit daft to be honest.

When he was playing for us last season he was constantly on the receiving end of all sorts of ā€˜attention’ from opponents. They knew what he was about and sought to nullify him.
However, he seems a good deal fitter nowadays than when he arrived. He’s more mobile, doesn’t have to chase pointless long punts and is able to get his retaliation in first.
Truly is a handful when he’s on this form.
