W 3-1 vs Barrow (A) - League Two - Sat 18th April, 12:30pm

Just 1 point from the previous 3 game is the killer I’m looking at. If we hadn’t have been so generous in defence against the Gills and Swindle we were worth the wins in both games - and then arguably we would have been more up for it last week against Cheltenham. Another 8 points (plus the improvement in GD) and we’d still be in the fight.

I think this is undervalued.

The cost alone of doing this is ridiculous now. I’ve only been to a handful of away games this season, cos I simply can’t afford it. Last season I did most of them. It was costing me £60 for the coach for me and the boys then £40+ most weeks for the tickets, that is before you have left Walsall.

I don’t owe Walsall anything, they need me and my boys more than I need them. They rely on the emotional ties you have to the club. I didn’t miss a home game for well over 25 years and probably missed a dozen away games in that time also. Times change. The sacrifices we make as a family to follow Walsall, I am lucky my wife is okay with it. We haven’t had a holiday for over ten years as one example of how it has been funded. Not even the year we got married. Terrible people that the likes of you and I are dragging the club down.

Exactly what we’ve done. Stayed in the Lakes to coincide with this

With both I don’t think there’s a single spot in the ground where you can actually see 100% of the pitch. Not an issue to have different sections added over time, but for one part to block the view of spectators in another - and the plethora of stanchions! :scream:

I said that, and we moan about ours!

No Barrow or Morecambe - and Carlisle only an outside bet - to come up to this neck of the woods next season.

I put it on and it just made me angry. So we played well and won today but I can’t get past the fact we were top at Christmas and ended up with nothing to play for with 3 games left. After last season it is unforgivable to do it again.

Even more evidence that if Trivela had the balls to bin Sadler after Barrow last season, we’d have gone up. If Byfield can take over and pick up some wins, you can bet your life any decent manager coming in last season could have done the same with a much better set of players.

Barrow not down yet mate

It’s one win against a poor team, let’s not do this. For all the chatter about “uber negativity”, we don’t need to be considering Byfield for any role in the club, and blanking out some performances under his short tenure, especially last weeks.

Good performance today which was owed after last week’s disgrace.

You can only beat what’s infront of you but you can see why they are going down. There were gaps in their defence you could drive a tank through.

I know it’s so frustrating the mentality :grimacing:

Mind you, it won’t stop us having a weekend away up here. We’re back in the Lakes on 14th August. If Barrow stay up (or Carlisle come up) I’ll be hoping it’ll be either one of those two away on the opening day of the season

Highlight of today was Jellis looking like a decent footballer for the first time this season.
Lakin, unfortunately, not so much.

Today summed up exactly where we’ve gone wrong all season. When the pressure’s off we’re absolutely fine, as soon as it’s cranked up a notch we fold like a deckchair after a Butlins weekender. The squad needs some character added to it

On paper we’ve got the makings of a decent back four next season with Hancock, Burke, Williams (although who knows how he’ll return after injury, tough to get back to where he was with the facilities available at this level) and Browne. Barrett too, although I assume he’ll go elsewhere for a fee.

Crazy to think we have the second best away record in the league yet we’re still miles off the playoffs. It’s imperative that we find a way to win home games consistently again

I didn’t watch the game but okoke and Albert on the wings we’ve scored 3 goals in both games so it begs the question why byfield left okoke out the line up the last how many games ? He should be sacked for that alone.

I imagine he was in Germany with his agent instead of training… unless it was AI that made him appear on their pitch.

To blame Byfield for the Okeke situation is flawed in my view, since, if you’re not in training sessions, what message does it send to the squad if you automatically start?

What, for a month?

Lakin is shite the sooner he’s gone the better Jellis was a lot better today.

It was a decent performance today. The table does not lie, there’s a reason both sides are where they are.. .form. The fans deserved a performance after last week’s meltdown, if we were as good at home as we have been away this season, we would have easily made the play offs if not the automatic places. It’s unthinkable that our owners and the board waited so long ro act in firing MS…utter incompetence imho!
We’re way too top heavy with executive management positions, how the new manager is expected to do his job under such restrictive circumstances, reporting to this head and that head, it’s going to be very challenging for whoever is chosen. It will probably be a “no name” just like the department heads we’ve never heard of, it’s going to be an interesting season to say the least.
