Kanu was oarsome.
I was thinking the same thing!
RWB: Barrett starts then clarke, okeke, browne and even uncs can play there
LWB Harper starts (in absence of Hancock) then weir can play there, as can okeke, clarke (i reckon) and even Maher has been played there.
We have back up at wing back don’t we? Kanu needing to play most/all games is going to be the biggest problem, I think.
Yes Clarke and Okeke are cover for the full backs.
We don’t have an obvious replacement for Kanu in terms of the way he plays, but I think some mixture of Albert and Rico Richards are the players who would take his place in the side if he doesn’t play.
Thought the chats about his very obvious “egg in the nest” were funny - especially “You’re going to Turkey in the morning!” ![]()
Good result, good to score 4 as I didn’t think we would see that this season based on games being tight. It felt comfortable without being comfortable if that makes sense. Murphy has mad two cracking saves at least.
Had Weir not scored two for MoM I’d have given it to Barrett. Patrick is there danger man and though he kept him quiet and anonymous all game. Lakin close second being industrious as ever.
Not convinced on the keeper, think his decision making is slow and his kicking is bordering atrocious. I thought I’d watch Presley closely today as I was initially impressed with him and read some criticism. Have to admit, based on today, I’m not sure what he does. I thought he was good at heading, but it doesn’t look like he is. Kanu is streets ahead of him.
Good little run going at the moment so bring on the next one.
Hopefully that will be good enough. As long as Kanu isn’t unavailable for a long period of time, we should be fine.

If I’d got his money mate - I’d be getting mine done! ![]()
If i was a Tranny I’d be in shock at that result.
I’m not sure how a person’s gender identity would influence their thoughts on the result?
worst hairline in the football league ![]()
He didnt play like a 44 year old goalkeeper though to be fair to him.
Lol - maybe gives you more empathy with the increase of estrogen?

That save low to his left is one of the best saves ive seen in the last couple of years.
Yeah I’m not sure how much I like their paring. Both have recently come from Premier League academies which is a bit more technical and less physical.
Comely has over 100 games at lower league and non-league and he’s a bit more up for getting hands on and fighting for second balls. Think once Jellis is fit he’ll go right back in for Finnigan.
Just noticed that the franchise attendance today exactly the same as ours (6010) - according to the BBC anyway…. Bet that doesnt happen often within a division…..
I’ll give Sadler his due. It’s been a far far better start than I anticipated considering the fixture list and the traumatic last few months of last season. I thought he’d be fighting to keep his job so to be already in top 3 is excellent.
I think changing up most of the 11 is proving to be a good thing as plenty starting are untainted by last season’s failure. Flint would probably chin anyone who tries to say to him he’d bottle it like those playing last year.![]()
Flint and Kanu been brilliant signings in their respective positions and others like Lakin and Weir are kicking on now after not getting many starts in the run in last year.
To take more of an overview it’s exactly where the club should be given it is starting its SEVENTH season in this division.
My only plea now is please don’t mess up January otherwise all the lesson learnt statements are just guff.
No point in getting excited
Not getting excited.
Just facts. ![]()
Absolutely crazy to think that he was our Goalkeeper when I was 16. Im 36 in a few weeks.
I remember signing him on premier manager 98, i was 6 years old ![]()
Cracking game of football. Special mention to the ref who let both teams get on with it. He played 2 crucial advantages from which both teams scored.
Thought Burke was taught a lesson by Davison and Ironside but he’ll learn from it. Murphy made 3 unbelievable saves in the second half then spoiled it by shouting at a ball boy.
Thought the subs all did well again. Well done Saddlers and happy 18th to Alfie.
Had to give it Weir for 2 fantastic strikes and I thought he put in a decent performance. Agreed though Lakin runs his socks off to put it politely, been our best player so far albeit I appreciate it’s still early doors.
Ps whisper it but did any one else think Albert was offside?
