Three players in team of the week
Shouldnt the manager of the week be MS for that performance lol
I donāt agree with the manager of the week ⦠Might be a bit biased though
Nothing biased there mate was the performance of the weekend i know Mansfield beat top of the league Stockport but they aint run away leaders lol .
I was absolutely delighted pulling onto my drive after travelling yesterday to see the half time score at 2-1. It seemed like every time I checked thereafter weād scored again. No comment on the performance as I didnāt see any of it but how refreshing to come away from that game with three points after the good run weāve had against the better sides in the division of late. It would have been very Walsall get lose yesterday and undo a lot of the good work.
Full credit must go to Sadler for seemingly turning things around, heās been dealt a rough hand over the course of the season with injuries but has seemingly stumbled on a winning formula in terms of personnel. In the coming weeks and months heās going to have some real selection dilemmas if we continue to perform the way we are
-
Does he continue with McEntee in midfield when heās back?
-
Should DJT and DJ get a run together? If I remember rightly they looked promising as a pair in the preseason games when selected alongside each other
-
Jackson Smith has been a revelation but at some point I expect him to have a dip (as most young players do). Will Sadler get Evans back in or will he stick with Smith?
Iām sure weāve all got our own opinions on what Sadler should do, but these will be crucial decisions (amongst others) that heāll need to make at some point that will have a big part in how the remainder of the season pans out
Think hes got to stick with Smith when he has a dip as all Goalkeepers do removing him from between the sticks would be more Detrimental to his pregression .
Jacko is better than Evans for me.
Will be interesting to see if Evans gets a run out on the FA Cup on Saturday.
Nice for us to be in the position of having 2 decent goalkeepers. Reminds me of the days of Trevor Wood and Jimmy Walker.
The issue will be that you can only keep one out of the starting line up for so long before theyāll want to move on.
It reminds me too of the Walker and Wood dilemma. I recall being torn as which one was best and that is how I feel now. Smith clearly has potential but he has been lucky that his āhowlersā have not been punished. At moment I would have Evans rather than Smith but it is a close call.
I would imagine the club have at least spoken to Evans about a new contract. If he is stalling in any way then Smith should remain No.1
Still trying to catch my breath from yesterdays outrageous romp, that was more fun than when Mrs KingCrod let me indulge in some āteabaggingā for my 50th Birthday.
Gutted that due to work commitments there is no debrief today but in all honesty I think everyone would agree the S&S Steelstock match rating has to be a 10 and I think it is unfair to pick any one person for POTM, they ALL deserve it. After some ridiculous criticism both at the top of this thread and in many other threads Iād like to single out Doug Taylor for special praise, heās really starting to show the player I thought he had the potential to be.
Far too much information. Iām guessing it was Earl Grey by the way
Your very lucky, my wife will only drink coffee
Nah, sorry cookyskid, more of a Lapsang Souchong or an Puāer tea person at a guess , nothing ordinary for our dear KingCrod lolā¦
We can let our grannies out nowš¤
Iāve got say in the last couple of weeks I havenāt felt this happy since a took
Out my Sunlife Guaranteed Over 50 Plan
Well once Wacka did displace woods nobody could dispace him for years and in fact didnāt until leaving for a spell. Maybe it will be the same with Jackoš¤
It is a tough call between the keepers. Jackson is younger and has more potential but Evans is a very good keeper and less prone to bad errors. All teams need two reliable keepers. We played a lot matches in recent seasons without any back-up at all.
I like how Jackson distributes the ball much more quickly than Owen does when thereās a counter on,and I personally think Jacksonās kicking is better when he chips it out wide to the wing backs.Donāt get me wrong heās no Ederson with the ball at his feet but he does find his target more often than not.In recent games Jacko has made some really good reaction saves too and if he carries on like this Owen will find it hard to get his place back. Two very decent goalkeepers pushing each other can only be good for the team.
