I hope they do I’m in
M42 closed by the airport. Took me hour and a half to get home to Solihull. Same again next weekend.
Fireworks & Bonfire at arboretum last night
I’m a season ticket holder and don’t mind at all if it helps people out and enables them to come to matches. Who knows the following year they may become season ticket holders too.
Firework display at the Arboretum didn’t help me.
I gave my mate a lift home from the game to Bournville and then I continued home to Solihull. Total journey time 50 minutes. Will do likewise next time the M42 is closed.
Interesting. Will probably go for M5 this weekend.
Walsall fans should embrace these half and half scarfs. After all, hundreds of fans by Walsall/Rangers badges.
What a fickle bunch we really are.
From other posts I have seen, it seems that the Walsall/Rangers thing bothers you in some way.
As I said about the Drogheda half and half scarves, they aren’t for me, but I can see why there would be a market for them. Walsall/Wrexham, I can’t honestly see why any Walsall fan would want one of those, I doubt there are many that are.
If it is in reference to ISSA selling Walsall/Rangers merchandise, I don’t really have anything to do with that side of things as secretary. As a committee member, I could vote against the product. Much the same as the Walsall/Drogheda scarves, it isn’t for me, but there is a market for Walsall/Rangers products. The way I see it is that all money made is being used to do good things in the community.
That is why I wanted to be a part of ISSA, to make a difference in some way. Maybe a bit naively I didn’t foresee a lot of the negativity that would come with it. You can’t please everyone I guess.
I have no desire to get into an argument with you, I like a lot of your posts, and we probably won’t come close to agreeing on this matter.
When i walk in to the Railway it feels like a real supporters club. I love to see Walsall flags decorating tge walls as i am a Walsall fan.
However, i completely disagree with having a Rangers badge on a Walsall FC flag. It leaves a sour taste in much the same way i wouldnt expect to see a Walsall and proud flag with a huge Abderdeen, East Fife or Falkirk badge on it.
I just cannot see the purpose of it the other than promoting long lost sectarianism allegiances.
I am a Walsall fan and proud of that. I do not support Rangers, Drogheda or link sny other team to my support of Walsall FC.
If i go to a Cologne match then yes, i will don my FC Köln scarf but i certainly wouldnt affilliate both clubs together.
I think ISSA is just wrong on this point and maybe should just focus on WFC and the community.
I would want my supporters club to be loud and proud, not an extension of some so called random affiliation with a club with a history of sectarianism.
Is there a correlation between attendances when Rangers are playing, and not playing? Surely if Rangers aren’t playing then we have an extra 1k on the gate?
The Walsall rangers link goes way back to the early 80s when there was a Walsall branch of the rangers supporters club of which myself and other Walsall fans. Where members of.
It ran out of the sportsman’s pub on Stafford Street. And strangely enough there was also a leeds united and Liverpool Walsall Branch. supporters club operating out of the same pub at the same time.
I myself had a season ticket in the Copland road stand at ibrox for many years Alongside. Other Walsall fans. Who regularly attended rangers games, albeit we only went when Walsall didn’t have games , and in those days. Rangers played regularly on Sundays ,and we also did midweek fixtures , so it was easier to get season tickets rather than scramble for ad hoc. tickets. For When. Walsall where not playing
So there’s the link many fail to accept or want to hear exists
As for the badges which seem to grind on donington , yes they did sell in there hundreds in fact. 700 where sold , not bad sales for what was described as tat and sold out within a week
Also and again this will upset a fair few. But. When we raised 7 k to feed our hard pressed nhs staff via our food van. During Covid. Our counterparts up at ibrox donated heavily to the. Cause, Just as they did when the old peoples bungalows flooded on the beechdale and they needed funds for new furniture , same as they did when the disabled nursery in Aldridge needed new sensory toys And. There yearly donation to a royal British legion club of our choice
, you see whenever I put a plea out for help. Our freinds up at ibrox are always one of the first to help , and just like. Us saddlers Football unites when most needed And. Both sets of fans. Step up to help those most in need.
The flags in railway have been to ibrox on many occasions and are welcomed ,
And they will be at ibrox and old Trafford for the upcoming European games that I and. 30 other saddler fans have been lucky enough to get tickets for , would have been more saddlers in attendance but demand for tickets was. To great
Just as at the pre season friendly. Rangers had with blues , the amount of saddlers I saw on the night at St Andrew would get a few on hear in a lather
Can’t speak for other clubs and sorry to be urinating on a few on here’s strawberries but it’s nothing to do with sectarian rubbish they quickly talk of , but just a link between two sets of fans. Of different clubs that has been in place many years
Again and those strawberries are going to taste pretty awful at this rate , but some of those rangers fans / link. That many so desperately want to think don’t exist are flying down new years Eve to celebrate it with us in the railway club, And you can bet your last pound they will be leaving a donation to be used in some way to help those in our comunity Less fortunate than our selves Whilst proudly wearing. There. Walsall rangers badges
What I find Even more strange is Walsall fc. Never complain about the merchandise Maybe. It’s there next half and half scarf lol or maybe they where happy with there. Donations , as let’s not forget. The appeal Issa put out to get Bescot. Bar. Decorated. With the Murials you see in place today Had a fair few donations from the lads in the Copland stand at ibrox
We personally I don’t have a problem with any fan. Having an affiliation with a second team , I even know die hard Walsall, fans who have an affection for Celtic , with one lad who contributes regular on here, and he’s one of the nicest blokes. You could ever wish to meet. ( you know who you are. ) and I’ve spent hours in his company chatting football and everything Walsall fc. , and he’s also heavily donated many times to Issa And. The Bescot bar murials
So you see the only issues are those stoking the fires in the background Stirring up rubbish that don’t exist they only exist in there desperation to cause Spats on here
Been a walsall fan since 99 and never knew rangers were our second team and we had a history with them
Wonder why we have never had rangers player on loan or a rangers friendly then in recent years
It’s not an official link between the two clubs, mate. Nor will it ever be
It’s been a link between two sets of fans That like I said started in the early 80s
It’s not just Walsall. Lots of English football teams Have an affinity to rangers
Liverpool. Have the same with Celtic snd I say FairPlay To them it’s there choice
So when are all these Rangers fans we have an affinity with coming down to the Poundland in a show of solidarity?
There will be a few with me at. nots. county on New Year’s Day after celebrating New Year’s Eve in thei railway club
I take it you’ll be the 1st to identify yourself and tell them that they shouldn’t be there and give them the reasons why
No, I’m asking how regularly they reciprocate the mutual support, all for extra money for the club!
It’s just I’ve never heard a Scottish accent at the ground, let alone seen a few thousand Rangers fans showing us their support?
Most will know me mate. I don’t hide behind a user name
Try talking to me at a game. You may just find I’m just a normal walsall. Fan like yourself.
But I also have a liking for Rangers. Does that make me a bad person?
I was making a joke about Hilda Ogden pronouncing murals as murials that’s all.
Wasn’t suggesting you were a mystery man
