WFC Player of the Season 20/21

I think Kinsella’s best position is right back but you cannot put all the blame on him and the other central midfielders for our lack of goals. Time and again we have seen poor wing play and the lack of decent crosses into the box is a big problem. We also lack a presence up front especially since Adebayo left. In the last few weeks when Wright has put in some decent crosses there has been no one there as neither Lavery, Gordon or the other winger are capable of being consistently in the right place to score.

As I said above, I’d be interested to see what a good coach can get out of him. Especially a forward thinking one.

1 assist, offers nothing to the side…

You need a ball winner like Kinsella with creativity alongside him. Chambers and Sawyers worked a treat in our near promotion to the champ

So would you therefore not play Perry?

Does he not offer creativity? :joy:

You don’t understand the game if you think Perry and Kinsella would be a creative pairing.

Eurgh this again. Ok mate.

Just facts. Soz.

It’s literally not facts :joy::joy:

Pointless argument. Won’t be saying anything further.

Course you won’t :joy::joy:

Agree. I think we have to accept that the vast majority of midfielders at League 2 level won’t be contributing to every phase of play. Kins has a specialism, that’s winning the ball and making low risk passes - he gains and retains possession. It would be lovely if he was spraying 40 yard balls to feet, but if he could do that he probably wouldn’t be at Walsall anymore.

I think my point (which has been all along) - is that it’s the pairing - not individuals.

You can’t have Perry and Kins as a midfield duo and expect to be promoted. So it’s one or the other.

Kins is a good, effective player if you’re aiming for and happy with mid table or lower.

If you seriously want promotion you’d want better.

He suits exactly what we are now.

Don’t play a duo then. Holden and Osadebe both capable of offering drive and creativity from advanced midfield positions. There’s a decent balance in there somewhere that will allow Perry to develop at the heart of it.

Knew it. I don’t know when Perry became a defensive Mid :man_shrugging: Four forward thinking mids and Dm never going to be promoted. Wow. I really don’t know the game.

If you’re going to put it on one of your mids to provide goals, assists and get forward then I’d say a “Kinsella” is pretty ■■■■■■■ vital.

Perry’s passing ability has improved massively I seem to remember him pinging a 50 yard cross field pass to feet in one game,he’d be just fine as a deep lying playmaker in my opinion.

His range of passing is exceptional to me, pidgeon-holing him as a holding mid would be a disservice.

That’s what has happened to Afie Bates and his game has gone backwards.
