Not ambitious enough for me! It’s top 10 at least, play-offs expected. If we can’t compete with the likes of Morecambe, Barrow and Sutton then it’s time to pack it in.
Whats packing it in mean? Stop attending or wind up the football club?
Playing decent football, and making fans who have shelled out hard earned money, feel like it was money well spent
That is what i would feel constitutes a good season
Agreed
In my case: stop attending. It’s up to the club to decide how they want to go forward, but bottom half Division 4 ain’t going to inspire, is it?
Great question to start a thread with!
For me a good season would be one that does not die in January & we actually progress in Feb to May, rather than go backwards like we always do.
Other than that if this side troubles the top ten, something which only 3 of our sides have in 16 years; then that would be a good season.
UTS! Lump on!
The product thats on offer must be good to watch. Something that gives the fans that are paying their hard earned cash something to believe in and make them want to come back. In times where money is extremely tight for a lot of people, the club are extremely fortunate to have a fan base that sticks with them through thick and thin, but what they can’t do is take it for granted!!. Make the football much better to watch with a sense of a plan in place that will deliver success. If not i fear for our club’s long term future in the football league .
Remember when we were all disappointed to be bumbling around mid table in League 1 ……… god that feels a million miles away now.
Now a good season would constitute not finishing bottom half in L2
Sad to say bring an optimist top 10 is good
But in reality avoiding relegation is a success these days
top 10 would be a great season, nothing sad about that, especially if we play like we have so far.
I dont know why people would complain about that.
I wouldn’t complain and would probably take it now.
It is not what I’d call a great season though.
yes, great probably wrong word. Pleasing is more appropriate
I’d say acceptable.
I would say that’s pretty sad for quite a sizeable number of fans who have watched walsall mostly in the old 3rd division. Div 1 as now. I guess 10th would be acceptable for the club we’ve now become
More fool them if they want to mourn tier 3 mid table obscurity when we have early signs of some of the best football at this club for a while.
You cant be serious? What early signs have you seen?
8 goals in 4 games.
1 of them being an Own goal, and another 4 of them against blackburns 3rd side?
Let in 11 goals in 4 games btw.
Yeah. The defense has been terrible. Sorry if you’d rather watch 4 0-0s
We scored 8 goals in our first four games last season.
