I’d be amazed if Liam Gordon is a Walsall player next season.
We need to determine which league we are playing in and then we can offer contracts.
Ironically, I think that many of the players could sign up because they like playing for Sadler.
The problem right now is confidence. If we can start against Harrogate with the same tempo as we did in the first half against Port Vale, we should blow them away; however, if we start timidly and they score first, it could be a long way back…
For what it’s worth, we have the players, but they do need to get their **** together and realise that opportunities like this don’t come around every day…
Did you see Barrow’s first goal on Saturday? Gordon got nowhere near stopping the cross - that’s happened so many times this season and before. He has been targeted by opposition managers as he is a defensive weak link. Look where a lot of the goals we have conceded have come from - our left-hand side!
I don’t think Liam Gordon is a bad player, he’s been one of our better and consistent performers this season - and he looks shot at the moment. I don’t think he’s a stand out though.
However… there’s a reason he is 25 years old and still playing in league two: his delivery and final ball. Massive issue.
Sadler plays Matt because he is good at defending set pieces. The reason he has to do this is because he won’t play the best defender we have got for set pieces and that’s Williams.
Yep. I’ve seen every defender in the world be responsible for shipping a goal. To claim he can’t defend is just nonsense. His turnover rate is outstanding. His disciplinary record despite being a defender is exemplary, which shows his timing in the tackle is pretty damn good. He’s the only player we leave home at corners for a reason. He consistently covers the whole back line.
We’ll agree to disagree then! We leave him behind at corners because he’s no attacking threat, so he covers while our other defenders, who do have that threat, go forwards - that’s the reason. He’s no Paolo Maldini!!
We will because I just gave you a bunch of reasons why it’s not a fair criticism no attacking threat? The one player in our team that looks like he can actually beat a player and progress us up the pitch? ok mate.
Bags10, i don’t agree with all of your choices.

DJT - bring back from Ireland?
The thought of having players like Comley, Dave, Matt, Gordon, Levi and DJT in a (potentially) league one squad sends shivers.
I don’t think Levi is as bad as I expected to be honest, but very raw - and league one would be a huge jump up for him. I can’t see him being prolific.
Levi could go either way. He has some raw ability but would need to improve a lot. He’s not 19 though, he doesn’t have all the time in the world. I’m not sure he will excel playing for Walsall as they are now anyway. He is better with the ball into feet to run at defenders. He spends too much time trying to win headers as we play now.
Comley and Gordon, what on earth were we thinking?
Personally think it will be the other way. Many fans don’t rate DJT, he hasn’t convinced me, Levi is 12 months older than DJT, is there really a massive difference in ability. Don’t see it myself.

Ive never seen Levi win a header He just cant jump for some reason.
Agree though he actually looks half decent on the shoulder of a defender, or running at someone, although we can barely muster up a decent ball over the top at the moment… I would like to see him try and get better but at 24 not sure he will have the time at Walsall.
