Sadler In or Out? The Poll

Certainly is. Gamble and friends aren’t in the pressure position of calling the big shots and the big boss man is in America.

It was Boycotts ludicrous statement in June when Sadler was appointment which makes matters worse, talking about how ‘I know for a fact that he has the respect of our players and can get the best out of them. And I believe that especially with an experienced support staff around him, he can grow with us and be a very capable Head Coach for us’

Madness, absolute madness, basically setting themselves up for a year of not achieving anything.

My money is on him staying on.

Just a reminder of the June nonsense statement:

Interesting comment to a post asking if DJ would be leaving in January on X(formally twitter) by a Mansfield fan

Does Sadler ever mention the support? Be nice to acknowledge us now and again.

He did praise the travelling support in the tv interview. Lets not make arguments for the sake of it.

And our players and staff repay our loyal supporters with a performance like last night…

Just noticed he doesnt say much like Flynn did

Not by much, but we looked better when Matt came on last night. And it wasn’t a sitter. Give their keeper some credit for a good double save.
If anyone thinks Matt is the issue, they’ve not been concentrating on what is going on regarding, selection, formation, tactics and morale.

I’ve said this the stick he gets is embarrassing he tries his best he’s just getting on in years for a player in his position.

Fair enough @Andy_Petterson

6 points off the Bottom 2 and relying on injured players returning is a bit to close than for some of us. We aren’t talking 5/6 games played now. It’s nearly half way and this Xmas Period shunts us past half way pretty quickly.

You wouldn’t, because after I was accused of being drunk by 9 o’clock in the morning in two identical posts by the same user (so not only abuse but spam), I was told by a mod it was my fault for “making it about myself”. I asked for clarification from that mod, in public (because quite frankly that mod has sent me abuse in the past privately) and they were deleted, as I’m sure this post will be. A mod by the way that the last time I called him out for his conduct, told me I could “no longer play that card as he’s not a mod” :man_shrugging:

I reached out to the site owner, who told me next time it happens “flag the post and watch it be deleted”. I flagged the post and watched myself be blamed for it and pick up a ban. No response.

If I conducted myself the way certain posters do on here I’d be picking up month bans every time I contributed.

Anyway, Sadler out. If you want a real laugh have a read of some of this:

A genuinely ambitious ownership would critically look at the abysmal player recruitment (planning on wing backs without bothering with the right side), man management and the clear evidence that an ok group of players ( who should be comfortably capable of midtable) can’tbe bothered playing for the manager and pull the trigger today.

An ownership fine with making a reasonable return on their 10 million plus investment might think that sadler is capable of maintaining the current mediocrity and that they can continue to play on the residual loyalty of us mugs.

I’m betting it’s the latter scenario.

I know that most of us want Sadler out because of personnel matters, however my gripe is the coaching or lack of it. Every team we play seem to have a purpose, a distinct way of approaching the game, even the poorer teams.
Our squad (I’ll say that because ‘team’ choice is all a matter of tombola or injury) all seem to run around like headless chickens, sort of reminds us of Sunday morning parks pitch games, kick it upfield, somebody might get to it.
Do the squad DO any training? IS there any coaching going on? Do the players get on with Sadler, or perhaps is he too pally to give 'em a rocket? It all seems so amateur, when you watch our team they seem to come out knowing they are going to lose, so why bother with any enthusiasm.
We DO need someone in charge prepared to coach defenders on how to defend, coach forwards on how to score. Dow ask me who it should be, I’m not in charge.

He won’t go before Saturday. Trivela will hope we win that & spawn a plumb 3rd round tie to take pressure off, keep the fans happy etc… If we lose Saturday though he’ll have to go!

Don’t lump on.

Said that on the match thread. Defeat on Saturday is probably not on the cards, however we will with our luck get a bottom feeder Championship side away who will sweep us aside.
The League however is our problem, some very good sides coming our way in the next few weeks, we are 6 points away from the bottom…no need to say a lot more.

Not a chance, it would become the talking point and they won’t have anyone to answer the questions that will come as a result from the BBC.

It will be interesting to see whether they pull the trigger after the game if we win as that will say the decision had been made before the cup game.

Rather than be excited at the prospect of a win on saturday and a plum tie againt a top side putting out a weakened side, I’m now more concerned about just how embarrassing it would be if that were to happen and whether that humiliation would be played out live on TV for all the world to see.

Alfreton in the second round of the cup is now a crunch fixture. I can’t think of a more damning indictment of this regime.

But that is BB’s fault. The senior management structure we have now is what he’s decided it should be. He doesn’t get off the hook because he’s 4000 miles away, it’s his fault for not giving us an effective management structure / appointing better people.

Yep and the Forest green game and Barrow games have come at an unfortunate time for us .and now we face Manchester City away in the cup :flushed:I mean Alfreton

Equally, I doubt they’d want to rock up in front of the BBC cameras in complete disarray.

It’s now Wednesday lunchtime - the game is Saturday lunchtime. I don’t think it’s possible to fire & hire someone in this short period of time. Maybe it is, but the chances are that if we sack Sadler today, we rock up to Alfreton with no management team whatsoever.

It’s a mess of Trivela’s making. They hired this bloke, presumably because they couldn’t agree terms with their first couple of targets. The question now is how arrogant they are - do they stick their heads in the sand and insist they are right, or do they go the tried and tested route of appointing an experienced manager and ** crucially ** his team.
